did u ride both the bikes?

      What's ur feel?

Both are great bikes... RTR has better response to ur right wrist and has a better top whack but the FZ is not far behind... it gives a tough competition probably till the 80 kmph mark. But then, the FZ has so much more equippment and looks and big bike feel....

Pls grab a copy of bike india december edition... the cover story is exactly what you are looking for... it is already in the stalls... also check the FZ 16 first impressions thread.

if performance is what you're after......
look no further and go in for the FI...(i own the bike and believe me,it makes me smile every time i ride it)

        Positives....
1.awesome power delievery, throughout the rev range......
2.Fuel injection and the rear disc brakes....
        3.Goes to manic 12000 rpm...
        4.Great corner attackin tool....
        5.Amazin brakes...
        6.Wide power band...torquey throughout.....
7.The stiff suspension setup makes handling amazin'.....

        Negatives...
1.vibrations at 6000Rpm and then at 9000Rpm....man it vibrates......!!!!
2.gearshifts though are positive but the bike refuses to come to neutral sometimes from other gear in standstill..........

both the machine costs almost the same (around 74000 OTR)......
but the RTR FI will give you more grins per mile.........any day......

Well RTR Efi can't be compared to FZ16 if it comes in terms of look.
Its upto you which you like most I mean, Naked style or half faired style.

In performance term If you do drags then RTR Efi a bit leads FZ16 , but in terms of commuting and toughness FZ16 leads.

Its also upto the rider for drags , I beat rtr160 several times with my friends black FZ16.

Well yamaha brand is better than TVS, but RTR is really an awesome machine.

Its upto you what you like - Naked type or fairing style.
If you can wait then TVS Apache Menace is also coming which is 180cc..

now this is an interesting thread. will be glue...

since you said '1. styling', and by the looks of your post, i think you would be content with fz16 for its more goodies and kewl looks and has a decent performance too.
if you are more edgy on performance then rtr which is a great bike. but a head turner still is the fz...

got you more confused ? cheers...

For most obvious reasons.... if you want a complete high quality package.... go for the FZ16.

there are so many threads discussing the same things.

                @mods
merge the thread with the ongoing discussions.

^ but there have been other bikes too in the discussion.
this is the hottest comparison in the market at present. and its only them compared here. if a healthy discussion continues, this thread could turn out quite positive.
                  anyways mods call...

hey friends why dont we include p200 in this race?
its price also comes under the same bracket of 74k inr
and also a good bike powerful, big bike
and yeah apache's biggest problem is that it vibrates at 60-75 kmph and yeah fz16 is also a good bike macho looking big bike feeling, small tiny pillion seat, squeaky horn, no leg guard, fully digitalised digi console which i didnt like whatsoever .fat tyre but still i dont like the fz 16

you can chose from the three below:
                    1. apache rtr efi
                    2.yamaha FZ16
                    3.pulsar 200

^^ harismahesh needs suggestions for the two options he has. lets not confuse him.

                        @shadez
i see that there are threads which are already discussing between FZ and FI.
probably the start was with more options now reduced to the only two.

ok dude if were at your place then i would have asked myself for what purpose i m buying the bike[ dont tell me for riding purpose]

*will you tour on it ?
*will you use the bike for commuting?
                          *is mileage is performance,looks,handling.etc are?
*which bike suits me better...test drive both the bikes .
*one thing is also there if u are too tall then u may look odd while riding the apache
*is the spare parts easily available?
*is the servicing upto the mark?
*what are the drawbacks of the bike [better ask the owners for honest review of their babes]?

and after that you can choose from the list....

hope i helped you some or the other :P :O

yam had lost out on its brand name after RD and RX...now they are planning to revive their image with some really good bikes...R15 is an awesome track tool.....FZ16 is stunning...performance of an Fz is almost comparable to an RTR.....go in for an FZ16..probably u will get a better after sales service atleast....
