  • ZMA R or Wait for a Honda

I wanted to upgrade from ma existing P150 UG2 model to a higher capacity (performance) bike ....only thing interested me was Zma R (known for its touring capabilities) but its quite old and Honda have opted out of Hero Honda collaboration in terms of providing Honda-tech to HH bikes in the premium segment ....So a new Zma Fi is launced it wont be from Honda (PGM-Fi),which indirectly means Honda are upto something .....News is that Honda will release three new bikes one of which is CBR1000 RR in India by Mar 2009....My question is will it worth waiting for New Honda (not CBR 1000 )or settle for a Zma R......

i am looking for a tourer so even if anybody could suggest a better bike viz reliable, descent mileage of 35-40kmpl and good top end (120kmph) ,acceleration not so important ,budget can stretch to 1 lac

why dont you look at P220, its a great bike.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

ZMA is good. Also consider R15 and P220. Ride them yourself and make your decision.

the zma is a very good tourer, the best in India according to me.I dont think honda or hero honda will launch a bigger (more pwerful than a zma) in the next 6 months(maybe a year). The next launch would be the fireblade which is out of your budjet, so ride the zma, the 220 and the r15 .all three bikes are good and have their own positives and negatives.Choose the one you like the most.

This not very tough actually. Since there is not much choice really as you have already enumerated. Zma is old. 220 and 200 are newer. Zma definitely has problems on higher altitudes. But then you dont go fishing at 3000 mts every weekend do you?

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

i am looking at the FZ for touring. the reason for this is... TIRES... on a test ride. the bike just seem to go over everything mumbai roads were throwing at her.. even where the boundary of concrete meets cement (we all bikers know, what a ***** that is)

i've got couple of saddle bags selected also in the mix is a custom windshield too..

I suggest you to wait for ZMA Fi & P200 Fi. And if cant wait then you can check P220 also.

                            Test ride P200,ZMA R, R15, P220 and Avenger 200......
i personally feel ZMA is the best option for its stability, comfort, smooth pic up....Though its there for ages and lacks modern Technology.......still it never fails to perform......
