  • chased my dream!!the R1.....

do you remember the years when you had posters of your dreambike on your walls, running across when you hear an appraoching SBK,posing with a parked SBK always weary when you are gonna get thrashed from the owner!!??well even i was one of those guys till last month and thanks to a god given career in the oil sector, i was able to realise my dream with the help of my dear friend and mechanic kutten....it was here...in my own small garage...every day when i come down the stairs and see those 190 size tyres from under the cover my heart just skips a beat...i now own an R1....yes and that too with my own money and i am married(to a girl who had the guts to sit at 183 kmph pillion in thailand!!) and just 28...perfect age to enjoy SBKing!! and i had one now!!!
i am a regular reader of Xbhp and had read all the articles regarding the purchase of used SBk's so when i approached my friend for the intention of getting one he said i would not get any legal bikes but would be baggage ones and i had read a lot about them in Xbhp...but i said lets try and see...we saw 11 bikes in 2 days but most were thrashed and abused ones and that too baggage!!! i was to book my tickets back when my friend called me at 7 30 in the night and told he just saw a black 06 R1,stock and was 99% happy with it and to my luck or whatever i dont know it was a legal import!!!!....man i jumped and shook my hands lke rossi had just won the world championships!!! i went and saw the bike the next day and by the time he had taken a test drive and said "buy it"....and that moment when you become an SBK owner is like....i dont know what to say....and with the feeling in my mind that i dont have to fear anything from anybody or any official....woooow....i now have a R1!!!!and a legal one that too...!!!
smoking weed is for kids.....i smoke asphalt!

Good to see that you realised your dreams dreamchaser! You are atop an R1 no less. Nice buy there. And I am particularly fond of the 06 model. Ride safe, have fun.

Just one question though... where did you shoot those photographs with the lovely highway?
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!
