Dunno how many of you actually remember me. Been away from the group for over an year.
When I used to read this forum, I used to think of the day I would post here....finally....here I am...sharing my happiness with my biking alma-mater. For around 14 months, I missed my Pulsar, missed the G2Gs and the rides.
Well, I am one among those of you who have fulfilled their dreams or atleast some of it.
Yeah, I bought a bike, a 1988 black Ninja ZX 750R.
After living here in Boston for an year, looking at the superbikes everywhere around me and not able to touch even one of them, I am a lil closer to owning a superbike now.
I am still a student, doing my Masters and owning a brand new superbike is still a dream for me, albeit a little closer than before. However, the first thing I did after saving a lil from whatever I get paid for my internship, was to buy this babe.
Our fellow xBhpian, whom I met when he was in Boston, Dhairya Gupta a.k.a DG a.k.a Kamikaze had helped a lot. Had bugged him for over a month for fixing on a particular deal
. He also introduced me to a bikers club here, NESR or New England Street Riders....nice people...have already been on a ride with one of the members
.Yup....so after about 15-20 days of browsing through craigslist and checking out all possible showrooms around for pre-owned bikes, I found this fella. Though she's almost as old as I am, she is one helluva babe. Has just 18000miles on, which is very less for the age. I bought it for $1200, in a good running condition, brand new wheels and chain-sprocket set.
Riding it daily to work
. Last weekend, I went on a 100mile ride with one of the NESR's member, Sean. He knew some fine roads in the mountains, had fun riding....ripped the fella for the first time, did over 80mph for the first time. The bike performed as well as any other Ninja would, it was amazing, zooming on the highway at 80-85mph. And, I was not able to believe when I was cornering the roads. Initially, I was a little hesitant as I never rode a 750cc before, but as we rode on, I started to gain confidence and though I did not bend as Sean did, I did out do myself(based on my experiences with the Pulsar..hehe).I guess everybody knows the specs.....finally....here are pics...
Sean's is a 2000 Honda RC51.
