  • Bajaj-KTM 125, 250 & KTM 690s releasing in Auto Expo 2010.

    Time for some serious news!

    Bajaj-KTM 125, 250 & KTM 690s releasing in Auto Expo 2010.

    Business Standard:

In less than a year, the Indo-Austrian motorcycle alliance of Bajaj Auto and KTM will roll out its first products into the Indian market. The products will be introduced at the biennial Auto Expo in 2010.

The two companies (Bajaj & KTM) have been working on the development of 125cc and 250cc motorcycles following an agreement in November 2007. Both bikes will be powered by liquid-cooled four-stroke engines.

KTM plans to showcase these high-performance products at the international bike fair, EICMA, to be held in Milan, Italy, this November, and subsequently at the Auto Expo in New Delhi in January.
    Bike India:

Apart from these bikes (Bajaj KTM 125, 250) a few big bikes of KTM will also be launched. These include 690 Supermoto, street bike 690 Duke, 990 Adventure, 250 EXC-F and 990 Superduke to name a few. While some of them will be directly imported, others will be sold through Bajaj's probiking showrooms. With so many bikes to choose from, bikers will be quite delighted.

Now, the introduction of these bikes in 2010 was known, but now the links refer to "LAUNCH".

Earlier, Bajaj officially spoke about Ninja 250's release in May. May is here, without the Ninja of course! And not even a Sign or Spy Pic of it...!

This KTM Bikes' release may well be a news, but Bajaj's word is not quite credible it "seems"...

Seriously fed up of reading, WILL release. The release date comes and goes and there is not sign of the product. Off late Bajaj has been just promising and not delivering anything .

That is why news like this go over everyone's head nowadays. No trust on the press releases anymore.

Correct! Otherwise within no time the thread will be filled up with loads of speculations and rants. Remember Ninja thread?

Guys, I can understand your concerns. But, Bajaj's official word for Ninja was "May 2009"...

Let May complete without the release. If Bajaj doesn't release it in May, then you can take their word as Total BS, and close this topic ... Fair enough, I think ...

Auto Expos come and go, every 2 years. And this is a 2nd time around with the KTMs! Phew. These bike manufacturers are like Indian politicians. They promise a lot and deliver pittance!

I would prefer to read something like, "the new 250cc 34Bhp was released yesterday at the Hyatt Regency..." etc!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

hmm the only good points I could pick were -

                    1. These models were to be launched during the second half of last year. However, due to adverse market conditions, the companies postponed the launches. These are now expected to be launched later this year.

                    2. Bajaj Auto is revamping its entire product range, sold under the Pulsar brand, with modifications in the exterior body and the engine. The company is also launching a completely new product later this year.

                    3. The two companies have been working on the development of 125cc and 250cc motorcycles following an agreement in November 2007. Both bikes will be powered by liquid-cooled four-stroke engines.

I don't mind "that" releasing anywhere actually....

@Samarth: In their latest press release, they didn't even mention the Ninja 250. Don't you think they should hype it up if they are releasing it this month.

Could that the reason for the current 2009 Pulsars not getting the Total Makeover..??

This reminds me of time when I delayed buying an Enfield thinking they will be launching those Super Swiss Egli (or Elgi) bullets in India and ofcourse nothing never came and what came was nowhere what I wanted and I ultimately had to do with an "Indian Export model" . If anyone has any plans .... go ahead and dont be fooled by bajaj who have developed this hugely stupid habbit of Ranting Ranting and then some more Ranting
