Pulsater, dude, you beat me to it. I was just about to post this one

Anyhow, this is one bike which ONLY the performance guys will buy. I dont see anyone else owning this one for a long, long time, even if they price it at around 15000 USD. And the reasons are pretty obvious: its plain fugly! Asymmetric what, BMW? Did they do the headlights in a dark room or what? The only saving grace in the looks dept is the tail light. And thats about where the beauty stops (and starts).

Apart from the aesthetically challenged headlights, however, this is one bike to go ga-ga about. I mean, 4 ABS modes? Who does that on a street legal bike? DTC? And all those options for the ABS getting switched off with the rear brake use and that 5- second wheelie thing? Phew. And I don't think that even the standard RSV4 has traction control either. And if that one with the DTC is priced under 20k USD, then the 1198S has a real competitor.

If only they'd do something about the lights. Corser and Xaus seemed to have a nice looking bike. Until now, that is.

Dunno but I felt the design to be a bit boring. The Headlamps looks like a pirate with an eye patch.

Those specs look pretty impressive to me. Lightest loaded kerb weight it says. I wonder what is the size of the fuel tank! If it takes 18L of fuel, then I will say again very impressive.

About the front lamps, we have all known BMW to be asymmetrical in the lights department for a number of years now. So why start worrying and complaining all of a sudden.

I also noticed that the front bubble has "holes" at the place where it is attached to the fairing. I have not seen that very often!

I am pretty much impressed with the overall package I must admit.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

There is a joke about BMW's design team. The bike is kept in center of the studio. The left and right sides of the bike are designed by two different teams!!!!

Just a small correction, its 2010 model and the bike hasn't launched yet. All the dealers will take orders only by next year

So am I. Love the way its has been made and going by the specifications, it should prove its numbers in 1000 cc category. Although I am pretty sure it will be expensive and will fall in the price bracket of Italians litre class.

Will be interesting to see weather this bike would make owners, loyal to their particular motorcycle brand, switch to BMW in future, which hasn't happened much with this German company.

What a killer spec sheet. Power to weight ratio amazing for a road bike. Not a big fan of those asymmetrical headlights though. But the rest of the bike can be described with one word ---> SWEET!

looks like a mix of R1 CBR 1000rr and The headlamp looks as if its winking what were they thiking when they were designing the headlamp. Looks like a godd performer though.
