  • Track Day @ MMSC Chennai - June 26th

Yet another Track Day, and this time hitting the tracks with a pulsar, actual plans was to taek my P150, but then my frd said he also like to accompany me so took his P180 and reached the Tracks on time with excitement for the first time to check that except for camilee no else was there...

then one by one... Sai, Vicky a.ka. Punisher and his frd (sorry buddy forgot ur name), Ram, Ananth, Wonderboy, Kiran... then we sat down for the discussion - who are all gonna take the track... me, Kiran and punisher were the only 3 who are gonna take the tracks and wonderboy was a bit unhappy with the crowd we had...

Finally we decided we would start, then we heard the bikes coming in... this time it were the superbikes of Alisha n Team...

after some time we again heard the bikes this time its was our guys - Karthick, Sajiv and his bro, Surbhit, Gp_freak alongwith his couple of his frds...

We started with our track session, and first me, punisher and kiran headed up later the joined by our Sajiv, Karthick, Surbhit... also as usual, we had the company of the 2-strokes... even we had a tvs 50 or a luna (50 cc bike) ripped in the tracks...

Except for a small crash by Sajiv (maybe his fever would have messed him up) which left him with a left handle bent and a few scratches the track day was successful one.

hmmm.. yet another track day was completed and happy to be part of it. As i got some personal work to attend left an hour before but with loads of insights about riding in tracks.

Sajiv, hope u went home safe... take care and Vicky try to get some company when u practice stunts

some of the snaps clicked thru my cam...Sai and Sajiv share your part... hope you guys have quite a lot

    That's Me and Camille...

Back from the track, alive but totally cooked …. As usual lol.

I am very happy about this Sunday, because I have meet Alisha and her father. And also because I felt more confortable than last time with my suit (also put baby power for put the suit, and on my seat for removing my back grip on the seat).

My best time on the full track is now 2m35s and on small track is 1m28s.

I have put one pdf file here, with my all times from my all training days.

I think I can improve more my time, because actually I stay focus on my trajectories, and my speed in few turn can be increased, because not touching the floor with the part where I put my foot.
I think, there only the turn C10 where I can’t take it faster, because often touch the floor.
                In C11 , usually I take it at 70 71 km/h (speedo), I start to touch at 75km/h.
In C6, I go inside generally at ~85km/h but if go inside with a speed little more than 90. Then I start to touch….

                C1 : 5th (entry ~110 , exit ~95, very shaking)
C2: 4th (start to turn just after on line mark on the floor)
C3: 4th (close throttle ~ half length of straight sometime braking a little if I feel too fast, but sure not necessary)
C4: 4th (no braking, just cut throttle and down shift, sure I can do it little later)
C5: 4th (apex at the end)
                C6: 5th (apex early, ~85)
C7: 5th (apex very late, I am targeting a small tree on right side, I feel pass close to this very small tree with my head)
C8: 4th (brake little hard, speed before brake ~110 and 117 red light always coming , depending wind. For information, my top speed on the flat without wind is 114km/h).
C9: 4th (limit to switch to 5th , often red light coming)
Before C10 , 5th normally full throttle , but because working on my trajectory I close throttle when I start to turn. Apex very late
C10: 4th (hard braking, apex at the near the end of turn)
                C11: 4th(~70km/h)
C12: 4th(no brake, just close throttle before turn, sure I can do it little later, I try to not apex too early)

                • About some peoples who ride on R15 (without suits). You are straight on your bike, try too take a better position. Be careful when touching the floor with foot part ( I saw some time some spark (is the good word, I mean fire from steel) lol, when I was behind them) if you put too much pressure, you will probably start to feel loosing grip on back wheel. Try also to have less aggressive driving (need more fluid driving, at least at the beginning)… I saw also brake light inside some turn… Is really necessary (at the beginning)?
To one of these R15, don’t zigzag on straight part… that is not safe, especially when there is some SBK on the track.

                • Who are the 2 guy in R15 with racing suits? (Who overtook me?)

                • What is the black bike who make a lot of noise (probably one 4 strokes) but was slow on the track?

                • What was the white bike also noisy with exhaust under the seat which was staying with the noisy 4 strokes bike?

                • Expert racers, please correct my sentences if saying wrong things

                • Myself, need to look less behind!!! I got scary when I have eared one SBK just before the C3 (looking back too late) then I going straight …. Into the wet mud…. I felt like dancing lol.

                • I need to buy one R15 for waiting one 600cc bike. And need to come by truck, because travel to Chennai by bike + practicing is too much for me …

                • Punisher, I like your bike with blue and white color

                • People in 2 strokes who race inside pits and also in wrong ways give me angry… this is really not safe!

                • People who are on side of track, for looking, taking pictures or checking crashing guy and bike, please don’t stay in ejection trajectory …. Because if one bike crash in this turn where you are… they will crash into you.

                • Where to get lap time sensor in India? I forgot to ask to the guy with black R1 who have one.

Sorry for having forgot one part for fix my camera on the bike .

                  @punisher : Yeah, staying alone...
Yes the snake eyes on the back of my suit is not beautiful.

Best time on full is 2m35s and on short track 1m28s.

It was a learning experience at the track this weekend.

I pushed a bike a bit too hard too early(just the first lap of my second session) and paid the price, a low-side at C10. The bike suffered a bent left clip-on and gear shift lever and broken clutch lever. The fork also seems to be bent. A big thanks to all u guys for helping me out. I am not sure what I would have done if I was all alone.

P.S: I am still in Chennai. Fever increased yesterday night so couldn't travel. If all goes well I should start to Bangalore tonight. Bike would be here in chennai till the next track day . Posting the pics would take some time guys. Bear with me.

@Sajiv: Sad to hear bout the crash, but I guess thats all a part of the track learning experience
@Camille: 2.35 on P150 for a learner is pretty good, keep it up!

Who was the blue R15 rider who crashed?

Good to see that 50cc moped, in all the times I've been there I was hoping to see it but sadly din't see one. And how was that Karun the kid's bike?
