  • Karizma vs FZ16 vs CBZ vs Fazer

I am planning to buy a new bike.My budget is 85000/-.
I had zeroed on KarizmaR but now i have heard that a new Karizma ZMR is coming ,with cool features like Fi and liquid cooling(is that true). But it may cost 1Lac.What is your guess?

My usage will be mostly in city with weekend getaways to near cities.
For such a use i think 150CC will be OK?I am not sure
I want to have a performance bike with nice driving pleasure as well as it shall be comfortable.CBZ is great but not goodlooking FZ (or fazer)riding position may not suit me (for long drive) and Karizma though good now dated.

Can you compare these bikes for me and seeing my usage which one will suit me.I had a HH CD DAWN and always craved for more power(Bcoz of my riding style it returned 45kmpl).

I dont want pulsers bcoz of reliability issues(some people say it gives a lot of headaches after 1 yr).And Apache 180 riding posture is crouched(may not suit me i m 6ft and 74 kg).

My monthly runnig may be about 300km.

At 6 Ft and 74 KGs you are 2 inches taller and 6 KGs lighter
I have ridden RTR (160) with hardly any issues........

I can understand your craving for more power... but hey the bikes you chose
do not fall in that category..

I dont know what you mean by 'power' but FZ and Fazer are good relaxed torquey bike.... expect them to zoom to 100 and be there effortlessly but from there it will be slow!!! but it will handle much better everywhere and looks fresh....

ZMR - Is vapourware for now.... lets see what it gives when it comes...

ZMA R - Is a good 'old' bike ... it also comes from Hero Honda so you will likely retain your servce centre guys and all and can use your rapport that you must\could\should have built in these years with CD Dawn.... However be ready to have a drastic drop in the mileage front!
I will zoom to 100 and beyond and then be not as great a handler in those high speeds as the FZ (but it will still be hell faster~!)

CBZ (xTreme) is a good relaxed bike, it is not like the old CBZ, it will have similar merits as the ZMA r, but will give you more mileage and will handle pretty oridinarily after 100 too...

If I were you, I would put my money on RTR180 or the P220... however having said that I really do not understand what "you" mean by "power"...

You dont want zma...you dont want apache's...you dont want fz's 'cos you are not comfy...as your budget is 85k you cant go for r15...you dont trust pulsar's...

So what's left is Unicorn and Suzuki GS150R...again unicorn is outdated...so what about GS150R ?

The riding position on the FZ is quite comfortable actually, with the wide handle bars and wide riders seat keeps my rear side very comfortable.

              OR
Wait for ZMR is launched and decide based on reviews

the GS it is then...but considering your budget,RTR 180 should be a nice buy. I'm 5'11",but i didn't find much difficulty while test riding it(and satyen supports the fact)...and of course, if you can do with the dated looks,Zma is still, very much an awesome machine...upto you now...

                  Wait for ZMR...

or IF in hurry, go for ZMA or RTR180...

& IF you can trust Pulsars for once, New Fastest Indian is superb. Am sayin this though even I dont trust Pulsars.

Bro I'm the exact height as you are and probably a couple kg's lighter , but I got absolutely no problem with the FZ16/s or Fazer ( took a TD ) riding posture , it's really comfy , you can say , it's not as laidback as the ZMA or as sporty as the RTR , it's bang in between both these rides ... so it's really what you need to decide , If you want comfort , though outdated go for the ZMAr ,nothing like it ... otherwise you can go for the fazer ,it's really good looking , good riding posture and mileage is around 40 ...

P.S:45 on a HH Dawn , my cousin owns one and it's giving him 73kmpl ... Ripping the daylights of the bike eh ?

yesterday i took a test ride of rtr180 , and i was impressed with pickup though bike really felt small for my heavy skeleton ,so i may not suggest rtr180\160 for big guys. it's either uni or zma or wait a lil more!

First thing I would like to clear: One is the Apaches are not small for 6 feet people. Bhanu is using an RTR Refresh since almost a year&had no issues. It doesn't even look small once seated on it, since the feet bend in.
Secondly, my take on the ZMR is it will be even more expensive than the R15.
Thirdly, I would say that any 150cc bike would feel more powerful than the current 100cc you are using.
You need to think of your preferences&decide!
For your kind of usage, I would suggest either the Fazer or GS150R, being the latest offerings with lots of goodies&good Jap quality too.Take your pick!
                        Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Go for the fazer or the gs150r. Both of them are good for touring and come in your budget.

I used to ride with,my cousin [75kg].And whenever we go to highway we will feel lack of power in our CD dawn in pulling us when we try to takeover.
So by power i mean ,it should have enough horses to takeover even with two on seet. And pull ahead of everyother bike/car/bus on the road.

Dude.. you should really get the New P220 .. LOADSS of power.. Fits your budget.

If not, go for the ZMA R. Look no further, as you wont like anything else. It wont take you very long to realise that any 150cc (minus R15) is not much of a worth upgrade. I graduated from Caliber 115 with roughly similar experiences you had. (45kmpl, less pulling power.) to a P220 and am loving every moment of it. I am 6ft, 85KG.

BTW Riding position of the Fazer is a bit different from FZ-16, Fazer is a bit more relaxed in comparison. And with Yamaha claiming that they have wind-tunnel tested the front fairing of the Fazer to deflect oncoming winds away from the rider, i kinda' believe them.. even though i have never ridden one. So, ride P220, ZMA R, and Fazer, and take a pick. All fit your budget with a few grand to spare, to spend on good riding gear.
