GSR 600 is the perfect answer to Honda Hornet, Yamaha FZ6 and even Kawasaki Z750
Stability, quick power delivery, efficiency and comfort are what this bike is all about. It’s a 600cc 16v in-line four engine producing 98bhp (73.3 kW) @ 12,000rpm, also known as the Baby B-king. After a great efforts and harassment I was able to clear the bike from customs but now I feel it is absolutely worth it. I have been using it since last two years only for rides and college; it’s not a show boy’s hot cake raving high but some thing more delight. Naked bikes always stand as my first choice though many people don’t like it, I have experienced the bike not attracting during the day time but it pulls lots of attention at night, people love the design of the tail light and exhausts merged up together. One thing I really appreciate about the bike is the fuel efficiency it just keeps going on and on and on, when I am broke after parties I mange to reach home in hundred bucks worth of fuel and there is still some left for next day, I get approximately 21km/l. The bike doesn’t have that high top end up its enough with pick up; popping wheelies is like a child’s play. The swing arm given is the same of the new GSXR600 hence it really gets a massive improvement in the ride’s stability during high speed cornering and love to rear wheel steer on tight corners of Lavasa. The bike is superiorly mid weight balanced making handling very easy to wack it from one corner to another. I have faced few issues with the bike like cold starts, fuses keep blowing up every now and then, and slight wobble if try to ride fast with a pillion, I really don’t know weather these issues are common in it’s series or my particular bike is faulty . One thing which I really appreciate about this bike is the convenience to use in the city, my dad owns a Suzuki SV1000 the problem with it is, by the time you have stood on three signals the temperature will cross 110 and the coolant will fly out with smoke like a fountain and you become a laughing stock ! But as far with the GSR the bike doesn’t heat that way at all, that makes my dad love my bike more than his . The maximum speed I have touched is 175km/hr and the maximum distance covered in a day is 500kms. All I can say that I am deeply in love with the GSR. I am even planning to upgrade by self to the B – king, if the baby is a knight I can imagine the king. Aqyaan Alam Pune. Last edited by Aqyaan; 05-31-2011 at 01:51 PM. |
