Default 5 years of MADNESS still going STRONG!!

Hello, I was 20 years old then and a student. Finally after much waiting (parents were reluctant on buying a Karizma for me) I got my bike from the Hero Honda Showroom on 7th Nov 2006. It was of course the same old KING "KARIZMA". The bike cost was Rs. 77,084 (on-road) back in 2006. I chose the black colour of KARIZMA for myself. BLACK IS BEAUTY.

My experience with the bike has been just fabulous in 5 years!!! Hero Honda had really built a SUPERB machine for which HERO HONDA will be remembered by this product for a long time in the history of Indian bike manufacturing. The handling is still just amazing thanks to the independent steering from the headlamp. Balance is just fantastic!!! Braking is although little bit weak specially the rear drum brakes. The best part is "PICKUP". when I engage to gear 1 the bike just make me feel as it is saying "GO GO GO". The engine noise becomes very lovely and when the bike is engaged to 5th gear... as all the horses are lined up together and ready to leave every tiny object far far behind. "My 13 year old cousin calls it as "KASSATTA (Ice-Cream)" instead of KARIZMA".

The bike has clocked little over 23K Kms today. During the past 5 years I have never gone through any major repair except regular services after every 1500-2000Kms or 5 months at HH-Workshop which included Washing, Engine Oil change, Chain Cleaning, Clutch Adjustment and other little repairs. I live in a small town and henceforth the distances are not much to cover.

I have done little long trips and found that bike is perfect for long drives also. Even at 120+ the bike is like glued to the road. I found the bike more sturdy at triple digits than our family car Wagon R (sold later and bought a Swift K-Series)

The bike still looks and performs just as a new bike. I love my bike very much. I am attaching some pictures for your kind viewing. Thank You!

I did nothing to keep the engine looking new. The guard is original too. The only thing I did is that I always rode my bike with great care. That doesn't mean I didn't drive fast. For the first two years I was a speed maniac. I never crossed 60 during the first 1500Kms. I always parked my bike in shed at home.

I got the key chain with the help of Karizma Orkut Community. There were guys Nikolai and Anup. Those guys from Mumbai did fantastic work. I also have a customized ZMA T-Shirt. That project was done in 2007 or 2008, if I remember correctly!
