Tip of the Day

Closing speed...Watch it!

Keep your speed-check on when moving through slow or stationary traffic. Closing speeds can be grossly misleading and an erroneous assessment is recognized usually too late for corrective action.

    Boy! nostalgic nuisance they were.

Coming to your topic, don't go ahead and use 300v immediately I would recommend using it after 10k plus KM. Even I am considering it to use the 300v. Currently I'm using Motul SS and will switch to either a FS 7100. But then in the meantime you can use DTSI for sane riding, and once you get the oil, get it changed and note your ODO reading so that you can know when to change next time.

Also Motul Semi Syn lasts 6 to 7k kms easily and even more depending on the usage.

    Cheers!

Good to have dumb @^% people than people with half the knowledge. They try to beat you with that and this is the same case here. These guys dnt listen to you anymore. I want my bike serviced in front of me but they dnt let you see even. I hate it. Feels like some ration shop.

Ration shop, man you got me there.

Same is the case here, in any PBK they won't allow you. And to add to the gimmicks, in my town's PBK they have a CCTV cam. And when I entered to inspect what they were doing to my bike, one guy came running.

Sir please don't go inside boss is watching you. I was like WTF!! Which boss! Where! Who!! He is seeing your from the camera, I looked above, and the moment I saw I know it was fake. See dumb@$$ +1 here

They have a glass panel where the workshop is side by side and the bookings are on the next side, so that's how they watch.

They came and told me twice thrice not to go on, I didn't budge. Kept on going inside, they couldn't budge, so they left me, do whatever you want.

Being inside I just keep talking to the mechs in a friendly manner so that I watch what they do and keep track of all their movements. Maybe I am lucky, but then CCTV beware!! LOL!

Some mechs are so close to me that they listen to what I say when my bike's in for a servicing, as I impressed them "once upon a time" with my advice about oil, brakes and lots which they didn't even know about, so in that way you have a good rapport with them.

So it's not just you, every one gets the same @#$# but the take is how you throw that $@#$ back at them in a good way!! I did and it worked!!

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

    That's nice stuff .
I am not being regionally biased or something .. but its just that knowing the local language does helps along with the techie stuff. I am a year old here and still struggling with the language. I had a good rapport back in Punjab and at my home town Dehradun. Looking for a good local mechanic here to deal with smaller issues. It sucks waiting for an appointment for getting even a screw tightened .
Have an appointment at 9 am and I know their first answer would be Sorry Sir we wont be able to deliver today. You can take your bike tomorrow. Will have to fight over it too.

One doubt I always have. Let me know if it sounds weird. When I got the bike. I went to the showroom paid the whole amount did the paper work and left. Didn't see the bike or any test drive or anything. Came on the delivery day and took the bike. Should I have checked it while paying. While taking delivery I saw the manufacturing date was 2 months back. I sometimes get a feel that I was duped and a old stock was given to me since I didn't care to check.

So guys,Finally got what i wanted.Got 2 bottles of Motul 300V for P220.Current ODO reading is 7400 kms.My first choice was Motul 5100 but since it wasn't available,i picked up 300V.
Coming on to the mechanics of SVC,since there is no PBK available at my place i have to rely on mechanics of local bajaj dealer. But he is quite good at his work & don't mind me watching while servicing & is very frienly too
EDIT:- A big thanxx to all brothers who helped me out of dilemma.Otherwise i could have screwed my bike.Thanxx a ton

So the bike is in the SVC now, the engine oil level had dropped to bare minimum and those guys must be playing with it or may be experimenting on it.
The workshop manager looked tense with me visiting again for repair within a week. Last time I made a complaint to Bajaj. Should I call them again and update that CR with this issue also ? Haven't done it yet.

One weird thing that I came to knew today. As there is a scratch on my fairing I asked them for a touch up. They said that can't be done and the whole fairing needs to painted. Cost -- Rs.1400 I asked for the cost of new fairing and they said Rs.1800 .

Regarding the weird fan sound, they said its the air filter, it gets clogged and the engine starts making noise when it gets heated.

Well Bro you should complain if its a recoring issue and you think they are not doing their job up to the mark. Strange thing they said they cant touchup the fairing... well dont repaint it.. atleast dont repaint it from them. Good to hear the price of a new fairing is just 1800... thats good cause thats the part of the bike that will always easily get scratched.

Seems last night there were some theifts of bikes in the complex next to where I live ... Got me a bit worried .. Am thinking of installing autocop 2w on the bike... Know it will void the warranty but what good is the warranty if there is no bike itself to claim the warranty... called up Babloo motors in Vashi and got a price quote of 1590 with install. Thinking of opting for it.

Biking is about you and the bike and the highway and the freedom you get when all three work together. Its not about Bullying others on the road and behaving like its your Dads property.. So drive safe and be nice to your fellow bikers no matter what their ride is.

How do these security systems work bro !!! Alarms ? Engine Lock Up ? I mean whats in them that can ensure that the bike won't get stolen.

Update : I told you guys Bajaj came up with some minor enhancement in clutch system and SVC is replacing it for free. I asked the name today as it is being put in my bike and damn it I forgot again .
Its something like gear juggler . Not sure about Juggler thing but the name starts with gear .
I kept repeating the name in my mind all the way home but still forgot will confirm again while taking delivery in the evening.

No that's not a problem. As long as you don't get a defective piece of machinery, two months old is not at all a problem.

    Chill

Not at all a problem mate. Take it easy, and don't forget to post your engine oil performance for the Motul 300v here.

Bike is back... Replaced head cap.. I guess this thing is the end of the pipe that was leaking .. still have stains of oil which I guess are there since the pipe was not cleaned.. will clean and check if the issue is resolved.

Correction -- The new part replaced is Guide Gear and not Gear Juggler
