I've tried the bike at a probiking some time back but the problem is that in the test ride vehicle you can't make a judgement as the excuse they give is that it's a new vehicle/it has not been serviced and things like this. I experienced this at Khivraj probiking. I tried the new P220 and i found the rear brake not responsive and less pick up to which they said that it has not been serviced lately so this is happening. That is also something that i can consider to some extent. But the problem is that i am big time confused between R15 and P220. Both have advantages and disadvantages that we just can't compare. Just totally confused at this point. I've owned P200 so know the Pulsar family a little bit and my friends have R15 so know that as well and probably this is the main source of confusion. P220 is like -1+6 = 5 and R15 is like 0+5=5 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Last weekend even I took a test ride of Black P220 DTSi. Acceleration was just awesome, loved it. ![]() But, rear brake was not at all effective, had to ride at 30-40 & use front brake. ![]() Fairing was vibrating like hell May be was not fitted properly.Power it delivered was awesome too. Handling was just like ZMA. Riding posture though little awkward, but I think won't be a problem in couple of days riding. I have made my mind almost. But whenever I gaze at Yellow ZMA, I start getting second thoughts.

1. The rear disk brake is quite efficient and gets better after 100-150 kms,the major factor here is that its a single piston caliper(which is a very wise move from bajaj as had it been like the front one there would sure have been a lotta tyre locks and not everyone is a green horn when it comes to counter steering).. 2. The engine is damn good, today on my way to manesar I had a race with a red r15,that guy was experienced(d moves he made made me feel that),but the brute power of the 220's mill assured a minimum 100 meter lead..the crisp acceleration made me realize that d 220 is TOTAL VFM.We had a good 30 km race and when both of us were parallel and then my monster roared and I saw that look on his face( WTF!!## what the hell is happening??) then yea I did feel like god.. 3. Fairing vibes are they but they are in all senses tolerable.. 4.Great handling especially at higher speeds ,its cuts the wind as if a knife slices butter. 5. The rear view mirrors could have been better, and the projectors are awesome..

But when it comes to the school of handling R15 takes it to another level and that's what pulls me towards it when i see R15. But the ease with which P220 can pull forth even in higher gears with low speed is simply amazing!!! humpffff!!! Tired of this confusion One hand is 6 speed, liquid cooled racing replica and on other side is though 5 speed, air cooled (oil cooled through wider area) but brute power!!! And here i am standing in middle unable to decide to move in which direction ![]() ![]() ![]()

But i knew i'll never hit tracks in my life or may be once in lifetime. Just for that one instance, i dont wanted to move away from a practical bike. Be it a offroad, highway or city. P220 beats everyother bike. I wanted a bike which can take my beating of riding over humps/potholes at speeds excess of 80+ without any cracks in rim. I was afraid looking at the rims of R15. In India, its rare to find roads without any gravels. So its no use for me having R15 which can corner at high speed. Keeping this in mind, i selected P220-Good for everything. completed 10k kms without any problem except Oil leak problem which was sorted out during service.

Guys one question got my 220 on the 25th of jan and this is how the run in went:
1) 1st oil change at sai service at 430 kms 2) maintained 65 kms or less till 540 kms 3) After the oil change went for a mumbai - pune trip 4) at 700 kms touched 100 with pillion 5) on my way back at around 850 kms revved the bike to 127 with a pillion 6) now the total kms covered are 1095 The question I have is should I get another oil change as the bike feels a bit rough and the gear shift is also rough..... Please help and also is it ok if go full throttle now or what pattern should i follow. The bike has never been redlined yet. |

Coz RVM is one such thing that i use a lot and in P220 they vibrate like anything. And one more thing. Any issues or niggles you found while travelling non-stop on this bike like 4-5hrs at 85-90kmph+ speeds?? |

With full riding gear, it might be difficult.![]() it does 96kmph at 6k RPM which says how easily it can do high speeds. 80-90 is just a breeze. you can do 100+ easily for hours non-stop without any trouble. See The Tourer section where a guy has done 1600 kms in 24 hours.
