Shell Lubricants launched the ‘Can you keep up with me?' global promotion in New Delhi today. The promotion offers motorcycle fans from India the opportunity to travel to the 2010 Malaysian MotoGP race in October and compete against Ducati's MotoGP World Championship riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden in a virtual race.
The winners will not only meet and have a chance to compete against the two World Champion riders on a MotoGP simulator, they will also visit the Sepang MotoGP circuit to watch qualifying rounds and the race. They will also have the opportunity to tour the MotoGP paddock and Ducati Corse garage to see the race team at work.
To participate in the contest, the customers have to SMS "Shell Advance" and send it to 58888.
“Every race fans talks about what it would be like to take on a World Champion and thanks to the close relationship Shell Advance enjoys with Ducati, we can bring fans a little closer,” said Mr Donald Anderson, Country Head - Lubricants, Shell India Markets Pvt. Ltd. “The Ducati Desmosedici GP10 is far too powerful to be left in the hands of amateur riders but this will give the fans a chance to compete against the best - it should be an unforgettable experience as well as good fun.”
The grand finale of the contest will take place in Mumbai to identify five winners from top 25 dealers.
As part of the promotion, Shell Lubricants is also running a marketing campaign including on-ground activation programs in bike clusters in India. The company has simultaneous trade offers for dealers and franchisees.
The contest is on till 31st of August, 2010 and the winners will be announced in September.
