there is no question that Hero motors is going to give up its number one position in the world for motorcycle manufacture and sales without a fight.. i guess that is a bit of an understatement.. it should be more like WAR.. Hero motors, has been instrumental to the motorcycle segment in india and with more than 10 years of experience in making the country's best bikes and a huge export market, i am sure Hero motors has more expertiese than any one in this country at making bikes. take the cbz for example. for India, its a 5 year old bike, and it still beats every other bike in its segment hands down, well okay the 180dtsi might get it at straight like speed/acceleration but, with a honda suspension, on a track it is a different story. i have raced plenty of 180dtsis in traffic when it comes to agility the honda package is superior. with hero motors logistics for bike manufacture in place, the aprilia and hero package should be a stunner in the country. i think the existing machines manufactured by hh would change names and continue to hit the road, and more machines built by hero and aprilia both singly and jointly should be on the road in about 2 years. dont forget like maruti, hero has the largest after sales support network when it comes to bikes. you wont find a place to take a piss but you will find a hh or a maruti service station. even bajaj prolly doesnt haev a support network that size. these scooterettes are the first few to hit the road because the tooling time on the production line is lower and staff training required is lower. with teh life style bike market picking up i have a feeling that divali 05 should have hero motors launching something with a bang. lets hope for the best!!!
