Honda Motorcycle's July sales up 10%
Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today reported 10% growth in sales at 1,52,382 units in July, 2011. The company's total sales stood at 1,38,445 units in the corresponding month of the previous year, HMSI said in a statement. Motorcycle sales declined 2% to 60,740 units in July this year, as against 61,769 units in July 2010, it added. The company, however, reported a jump of 20% in scooter sales to 91,642 units last month as compared to 76,676 units a year ago during the same month. Remember sometime ago, we had a thread on Rajiv Bajaj saying "Honda is perceived as scooter maker, not that of bikes". Sales figures seem to back his opinion. Surely, Honda has got more models in bikes compared to last July and they don't seem to be going any where. And in Scooters, wow.. they are selling almost 1 lakh units per month.. even M&M, basically with all scooters portfolio is nowhere close to that number, in fact they are doing that in a year, I guess.

Hero Moto defies all branding logic.... It just keeps selling like hot cakes! That is SOME thing man!
Bajaj & Yamaha on the other hand seems to be growing very fast on the exports!
