Default Hero Honda 125cc...a Scoop!!

Hero Honda is working on a 125cc motorcycle based on the tried and tested CBZ/Ambition platform as these exclusive pictures reveal. The new 125cc machine sports an all-new front bikini fairing with a rakish design theme and the now de rigeur clear lens headlamp. The indicators are also new in keeping with that angular look. An attractive three-pod instrument console includes a tachometer and fuel gauge.

The fuel tank adopts more muscle and has a distinct foward weight bias much like that of the Pulsars. Fuel tank capacity could probably go up to 18 litres to match the Pulsars. The tank has a more rounded profile and prominent knee recesses like that of the CBZ. While the central panel is new the rear panel and tail lamp have been borrowed from the Ambition and is mated to a neat looking silver-finish grab rail.

Cycle parts have been borrowed from the CBZ/Ambition family and that means the familiar single downtube chassis using the engine as a stressed member and a box-section swingarm. Tyres are 2.75x18 front and 3.0x18 at the rear and going by experience with both the Ambition and the CBZ this should result in class leading ride and handling characteristics.

The engine is a bored down version of the Ambition’s 133cc unit mated to a CV carburettor and digital ignition. Visually the new valve covers and crankcases distinguish the powerplant. Expect power developed to be in the region of 10PS, on par with the Victor 125 and slightly less than that of the Wind 125. Fuel efficiency can safely be assumed to be class leading - in the region of 65kmpl overall.

The 125 is expected to be launched in November and will be priced to compete with Honda’s 125cc machine due out in September. Not to mention the just-released Victor 125, Freedom 125 and the imminent 125 from Bajaj Auto (K-60).

Pals...if u really wanna see the HH 125cc pic then go to overdrive.co.in (that's the link). Though it's a small pic not revealing much but u'll certainly get the idea of how it would look like. Nd as far as i am concerned it look much better than the new CBZ*..

Sorry about that rash...will keep in mind in future...

njoy
