Its not only India, Biker dies attempting to help a biker friend in Hailsham
A MOTORCYCLE ride at the weekend ended in tragedy when a pensioner died while going to the aid of a friend who had come off his bike.
A 62-year-old man came off his Triumph motorcycle at Carters Corner, Hailsham, on Sunday morning and suffered minor injuries.
But his 71-year-old friend who had stopped his bike and went to help him collapsed and died at the scene.
He has been named as Kenneth Jarrett from Mill Road, Hailsham. Police officers are now investigating and appealing for witnesses.
The two friends had been out riding on Sunday morning when police believe they rode around a corner and were met with a stationary concrete mixer lorry.In a bid to avoid the lorry, the 62-year-old rider skidded off the road and received minor injuries.
His friend managed to stop safely and went to help him but collapsed and despite attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the man is thought to have died of natural causes.
The matter has been referred to the coroner’s officer and a post-mortem is due to take place later in the week.
The 62-year-old man who received minor injuries was taken by ambulance to Eastbourne District General Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

We usually witness such scenario in India, but its not only India but even the rest of world is facing similar issues. A biker duo who planned for a weekend ride but only one came back safe.
Do you guys think on freeways we need some sort of discipline in place when it comes to massive vehicles being parked at wrong place and wrong time? And its not only abroad, we see such situation in our day to day ride in India.
