Default Would you buy a hyper-scooter?

It might be the first big scooter ever to catch your attention – and then only for an instant, because you thought it was a melted RSV4 – but the new Aprilia SRV850 begs the question: would you? It's 2011 after all, sports bikes no longer attract universal esteem and we've all got a bit more broad-minded.

Are you ready to consider a maxi-scooter (or hyper-scooter if it makes you feel better) for maybe commuting or runs to the offie? Ones like this with 76bhp or Honda's Integra that'll do 77mpg?

Sense is knocking at the door. Is pride ready to let it in?

I had one which was pretty close to being called a maxi. The only glitch with such wide bodied 2 wheelers is that parking them in India is a real pain. That said no 2 wheeler can beat a maxi when it comes to comfort. I think it's a very good touring option, better than most motor bikes i say.

Cool . . . . . looks like an agile beast . . . . Any tech specs? How'd it fare on potholed / loose gravel Indian roads?

Definitely Yes. I think they already have the SR125 and the likes available in the lineup. Most of them had a tag of >$3000. I seem to have read that Aprilia brought its entire line up to India. An enquiry at the showroom in Pune at the actual cost they get translated to will be a good info.

These things do look good. With such big wide bodies and small wheels, how easy is it to balance on bad roads?

I would love to buy it as it looks economical and good, and at the same time no compromise on speed and safety

Maybe as a second or third vehicle after I get seriously rich and get myself a Sports 600 which revs upto 16 krpm, which is still rare in India.

I still can't forget the feeling of shifting through a toe shifter, having full control in your hands, and sitting in sports mode.
So, not a great first vehicle for me...

Although yes, I appreciate how it looks... The swingarm, chain-sprockets, the fairing, disk brakes, etc.
