Default Ultra-lightweight Ducati-powered NCR weighs just 126kg

.

This Monster-powered, featherweight racer is the M4 One Shot, the latest beauty from Bologna-based bike builders NCR.

Using the same basic geometry and concept as the firm's 1000 Millona race bike, and borrowing heavily from the Ducati Monster 1100 Evo - itself a meagre 169kg - the stripped down, titanium and carbon-fibre constructed M4 One Shot tips the scales at a phenomenally slight 126kg wet. Couple that with a 132bhp output and you have a power-to-weight ratio that exceeds any production superbike's and begins to justify the £52,000 asking price.

While the standard air-cooled 100 Evo engine makes 107bhp and 84ftlb at 7500rpm, the heavily modified version in the M4 One Shot uses titanium pistons, an increased stroke and specially fabricated titanium internals - from cylinder to cams - to reach 132bhp and 105ftlb at 8,700rpm. NCR will also offer a base 130kg M4 - minus the One Shot moniker - with an unaltered 1078cc Ducati lump for £35,000.

The firm says its mission is to "redefine motorcycling by setting a new standard in light weight, simplicity and pureness of design and technology".

The M4 and M4 One Shot are being launched in North America, with a European release planned next year.

Where the NCR fits in

Power (claimed) Weight (wet) Power-weight ratio
Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike 240bhp 148kg 1.62
Ducati 1199 Panigale 195bhp 176kg 1.11
NCR M4 One Shot 132bhp 126kg 1.05
BMW S1000RR 193bhp 207.7kg 0.93
Suzuki GSX-R600 126bhp 187kg 0.67
Ducati Monster 1100 Evo 100bhp 185kg 0.54
Bugatti Veyron supercar 1001bhp 1888kg 0.52
KTM 125 Duke 15bhp 128kg 0.11

NCR has made such stuff before (including a 143 kgs Desmosedici RR) and one of their personnel was insisting that weight reduction has more effects than what meets the eye...

Brakes start working better, on-wheel torque and speeds get amazing improvement. As the tank's weight is lightened, mass centralisation is also implemented indirectly resulting in better handling and agility...

In all, the entire personality of the bike is heavily revamped.

They were very confident while saying that riding an NCR is better than riding a 200 bhp vehicle weighing 210 kgs or something...
