Default Suzuki launches Hayate @ 40 K (ex Showroom Pune)

Suzuki has launched the Hayate, a 112.8cc motorcycle that looks all too similar to their existing Slingshot model, with it's new name meaning Swift wind in Japanese, while sporting a fresh set of graphics. The Hayate comes with an 8 litre fuel tank. The button started Hayate is powered by a four-stroke, 112.8cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that uses a four-speed, all-down shifted gearbox. 17inch alloy rims are offered front and rear with the new 112kg (kerb weight) Suzuki bike. It uses a single downtube frame and conventional telescopic forks for front suspension. While at the rear, Suzuki has deployed 5-way adjustable, hydraulic shock absorbers allied to an archaic tubular swingarm, a component that has long since been replaced by the superior rectangle section swingarm on modern day Indian motorcycles.
The Hayate is set to target the high volumes commuter bike market in India, priced at an affordable Rs 40,162-42,162 (ex-showroom, Pune), and will be sold in shades of white, green, grey, red and black

This looks equally ugly to slingshot. Embarassing is all I can say
Why won't a buyer go for Dream Yuga or Disco 4g instead of this. Wake up Suzuki before you turn into a scooter company.

Everybody wants a share of the commuter market. Go ahead. You need to make some market share, number of units sold and money too. But before going aggressively into the commuter market where vehicles are sold in large number, they should seriously do something about their service network and quality.

That being said, I seriously hope for a 180cc GS and the 250 Inzamam or whatever its name is

even yamaha were doing trying uh same thing for abt 8yr finally they realized they cant compete wit HH,BAJAJ in commuter segment and started working on their strength the performance segment, so think may be we need to wait another 4yr for suzuki's 150 performance bike

Looks like the Hayate website is finally up!!

Its priced very VERY reasonably. On-road price in Bangalore is 48.7k - exactly 10k below the Dream Yuga. And New Delhi on-road price is just 44k.

If it does not get the attention it most certainly deserves in the market for entry-level bikes, I shall be very disappointed indeed.

Its as cheap as Bajaj Discover 4G and Hero CD Deluxe.

Power and torque figures are not yet release, since it is from Suzuki we can expect a low power bike with better torque and longer gearing,Carb is smaller than slingshot 'mikuni vm 17' gear shift all down.
