Heard a couple versions. I actually got one of Indiranagar probiking reps inadvertently blurting out to me on phone that delivery can be expected within 1-1.5 months, when questioned very sternly. But by evening they had gained in composure. Last heard the cashier lady sitting inside was 'hopeful' of delivery well before 3 months. But their official timeline seems to be 3 months, probably to avoid customer disappointment. They are right in that its better to be safe than sorry.

My booking experience left a lot to be desired. I mean, 100 item grocery checkouts have been faster than the time they took to process a booking. My booking# which was around one quarter to a 100, was processed around 4:00 pm in the evening. I had got the number allotted around 11:00 am in the morning (they were processing #33 then). But thinking about it, this is not a typical 'day' for them and we shouldn't be expecting them to be prepared for this.

And of course, in typical Indian fashion, no thank yous and no pleases. I was the only one saying thank you in this whole transaction.

^^ +1 to that! Though they have very well anticipated a huge turn out - could've been better handled. On my previous visits prior to the day of booking I had discussed with them regarding how are they prepared to handle the turnout - I had asked, people will come not ONLY to book but even out of curiosity. Everybody would want their share of attention. The store manager is very good at weaning towards whichever side is stronger. They must've been leading a very peaceful life with very few inquiries about Ninja's and Avengers and Pulsars as they were already established and thought they could take it easy with the KTM too. Sadly mistaken.

Even the delivery dates (tentative) - First they were hell bent on the 90 days story. Then when people started pestering more, particularly about the token numbers etc, they started to save themselves saying - 1st lot within a month - even went to the extent of saying 2-3 days and then saying 2-3 days within the 30 day period.

Would love to know the experiences of the Pune/Mumbai/Navi Mumbai folks besides Delhi, Hyd and Chennai folks.

I gave the Kanjurmarj "KTM showroom", the booking amount on republic day. Got a provisional receipt scanned and sent to me on Feb 2. This receipt does not have a booking/token number, only details of my name, cheque number, amount etc. In their register, I saw that I was the 161st entry who'd shelled out the booking charges.

Visited the showroom again this morning, saw a little coolant under the engine of the demo bike (filling error, not a leak, I was told, though why they needed to fill coolant in a standstill bike, I do not know. The spill originated from the radiator inlet, right side of the bike..from the seated rider's pov) and proceeded to inquire about the booking number/token.

The showroom staff told me that no such system was in place, and only that I would get a bike from the first lot they received, within the magic number, "90 days". When I told them about other showrooms giving a booking number, they pleaded ignorance, and the matter was abandoned at that, I realised that, they either did not want to tell me, or they themselves did not know.

The visit wasn't a complete waste, as I spent some time on the bike (standstill, no TD bike available until next week). Fiddled around with the controls, dreamed about what lies ahead.. etc. Spoke to the sales guy about this and that, and got out to work.

Probably each showroom does things differently. At the Indira Nagar showroom they even highlighted the booking# with a highlighter pen.
They also answered in the affirmative when asked if the # would be useful to track the status of the allocation.

Booked the duke today !!!
the booking amount has been reduced to 20k now.
The tentative delivery time is after 90 days. However, the sales executive mentioned that 90 days would be the max delay, we can expect the deliveries anytime after a month.

Did they ask to to pay 20k as the booking amt, instead of 30K ?

I had gone to the vashi ktm this afternoon.the entire package is good, the showroom people are telling that avg is 30-35 kmpl.seating position is also upright and quite good.they are also offering testdrives.the quality is topnotch.only grouse is that since im 6', the tank recesses kept hitting my knee.i had to take my foot bit backward so that it would fit the recess properly.and once again, the bike reeks of quality

Ktm guys swear to mileage being more than 32 kmpl, with the bike ridden hard ? I heard before it to be under 30(~25). That would be a deal breaker for me. Any one made similar promises?
