HMSI announced that it is going to increase the price of all its models by Rs 800 to offset the increased cost of diesel. Due to the increase in Diesel prices, freight charges went up and consequently the price increase has been handed out to the consumer. The company's current range of domestically produced motorcycles is between Rs 43000 to Rs 1.8 lakh.
"We have hiked the prices of all our models by Rs 200-800 from April 1. It is done mainly because of the impact of diesel price increase in recent times," Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Y S Guleria told reporters here.
"Besides, recently insurance charges also increased. So, finally decided to pass on some burden to the consumers,"
