The Husqvarna brand which had been recently acquired by Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM has now been slated for a 'rebirth'!
CEO Pierer had recently announced that Husqvarna will stop production at their Italian plant and also that no more road bikes will be produced by the Swedish Marque.
In a Press Release, Husaberg has stated that the two companies will be merged into one at the current plant in Mattighofen, Austria and will be using the technology that has been developed by Husaberg. Most probably it will mean the brand of Husqvarna will be used, while that of Husaberg will be suppressed. Husaberg was an off-shoot of Husqvarna after it was acquired by Cagiva.
The new company will be called Husqvarna Sportmotorcycle GmBH. New models will be rolling out by the end of this year at the EICMA.
