Default Details of the New Pulsar

Hi !!!

More than a couple of months ago I told ya guys that upgraded verions of the Pulsar twins will b coming, but all of u thought that it was a rumour, but the news is that they r really coming and even Auto India confirmed it early this month and now even the showrooms are confirming the news. Well these bikes are ready for production and will hit the market during the Ganesh Festival which will start at the end of this month, so expect the bikes by the 1st.

Now the news that the others want to hear.......

The Pulsar 2xx as some of u have been calling it, has almost been finished and the road testing has begun...

Its a 225cc engine producing 16.5-17.5 bhp ( will get the fianl bhp rating soon ) with a top speed for 130. It will also use the TDSi technology that will b introduced with the upgrades. It has a 255mm front disc. On the looks front, its still a naked bike and all those hoping for full fairing versions please accept the reality now. It will b slightly bigger than the upgraded 180cc model(length and wheelbase).

Now if all of u think that this is again one more rumour....well then I don't wish to say anything more but " wait and see ".

Wow interesting news Rash! Esp bout the Pulsar 225!

But a slight disappointment for those waiting on the BHP front! Guess in that case it will be miserly on the fuel.

The Naked pulsar sure looks good by itself, guess anything more than a Bikini Fairing will mar its looks (my viewpoint).

I am furious! All expectations gone in the drain. Should have been 250 cc, 20 bhp, 145 km/hr, 25 kmpl, atleast a semi-fairing (not that I hate naked looks of my 180, but seeing many Karizmas, the look is actually beginning to grow you see). I love you BAL, for giving me my street-fighter 180 but I hate you for your pathetic service guys and now this! S***! ---- MAX. [xx(]

They r doing a neck-2-neck fight with hero honda here. But my source ( who has been riding the bike for 2 days now ) says that they still have issues on the stability front, which is most probably because of the big and heavy tank. He says that the bike seems to drag and shake in sharp cornering.

16.5 to 17.5 bhp? Dont believe it, have to make it atleast 20bhp, while getting mileage as low as 20 will be acceptable.

thanks rash_rp for putting a full stop on all the rumors

Looks like bajaj is gonna go head to head with hh.
Karizma: 223cc 16.75bhp 125km/hr 87k (on road pune)
p225: 225cc 16.5-17.5bhp (will be slightly more than karizma) 130km/hr, price around 75k (less than karizma just like bajaj style)

I hope they solve the stability issue b4 launchning the bike.

The r under thier road test on the test track at the production plant. Tyres r the same as the current 180 and Karizma ( spec.) don't know which make....mostly MRF again. Currently only the engine run on the body is being tested. No head-light ( twin or single ) has been attached. My source's frank opinion is that the Karizma and the 180 (upgraded) feel more refined on the engine than the new 225.
