Two-wheeler major, TVS Motor Company today announced the launch of its premium segment motorcycle, the Apache RTR 160 RD. The Apache RTR 160 RD now comes with a factory fitted 200mm Rear Petal Disc Brake. Since its launch the Apache RTR has been a runaway success due to its superior power and performance derived from its Racing Throttle Response, which still is the benchmark in the above parameters. With the introduction of 200mm Petal Rear Disc brake, the Apache RTR adds a new performance dimension offering Incomparable Braking Performance, thereby matching the aspirations of the youth of today for a fast, muscular, and powerful and yet, latest on safety parameter, Motorcycle designed to give vent to their desire of an unmatched and superior racing performance.

The Apache was the company’s first sporty motorcycle with chiseled looks, unmatched performance and superior engine technology which represented the new spirit of the company? Young, vibrant, aggressive and committed to create innovative motorcycles that employ the latest technology and design to match international standards.

Apache is the result of TVS Racing heritage and has been born on the racetrack and was built to redefine and set a benchmark in the? Performance Segment? surprising that the news / official announcement comes about 2 weeks after this thing is available in showrooms... we've got photos of the rtr's rear disk brake from the owners who bought it in early December!

What's new in this? The FI ALWAYS had a rear disc..Does the carb one have it now?

Sorry if this is OT: My friend bought an RTR (carb) a couple of months back. He wants to know whether an older RTR owner can go&get a rear disc brake fixed in his bike if he pays 2K extra?

I also enquired they say it depends whether the company supplies the kit or not. The cost will be more than 2k cause apart from the disc assembly new swingarm and some other parts will cost up

Yup... the real alloy needs to be changed... or may be the disc can be mounted with some thread grooves welded... gotta check with both the disc & alloy in hand. Swingarm, if not a change, at least some welding is required.

And finally, first off all, try to get a disc setup from TVS!
