Default New Honda Activa before April 2009.Edit: :Launched on 27th March 09

Hi guys,
Anyone of u is planning to buy a scooter (well,I know its the era of superbikes). Then good news for u Honda is planning to launch an all new Honda activa 2009 model in March 2009,called as Activa deluxe. The new model will be having a 110 cc engine which now enables you to compete with any powerful bikes. Combined Braking will be the new feature that is used which allows pressing either the front or rear brake to stop the vehicle completely. This is useful to people who are not sure with which brake to press first. The new Activa model will be having low weight metal parts. So the heavy weight of about 100kg of the old vehicle will be reduced to a much less body. This helps in more easy handling of the vehicle and the mileage of the scooter will increase with this change The Activa Deluxe will be getting an additional feature, illuminated luggage box.

MG, that would be a great new design for Activa.

BTW, I hope Honda sticks to metal body for Activa. That is its USP.

Also, Honda gotta do something to pickup Activa sales as the waiting period came down considerably and Suzuki Access has still got waiting period.

Would that mean an engine upgrade for Dio and Aviator as well? Coz they all use the same engine.

At the moment the new engine is restricted only to the Activa. The old model Activa will simultaneously remain in production till 2010. Immediate launches are not expected in the Dio and Aviator although they could follow later.

The rear end has been redesigned with an Aviator style grab rail. Cosmetic differences are slight and not major. The big pity is that the suspension system has not been revamped.

As with regard to Activa sales I don't believe Honda have any reason to worry on the scooter front as they are operating at full capacity and whatever added capacity they are working will be fully booked. The reduction in waiting periods for the Activa is due to the impending launch of the new model. Wait times will shoot up again next month.
