Seems like the Toquey Street Fighter V-Max is coming in! But good things don't come cheap... So either Its an Optra or a Skoda or a V-Max.... Don't think its a very tough choice!

Now who is uneducated here?? Yamaha Motor India Ltd OR Financial Express. They are talking about a 1000cc bike. And the VMax is a 1200cc bike. And its too fast and powerful for our indian roads. Its a monster.

A 1000+ cc CBU import bike for 10L , overhauling of R&D facility and dealer facelift... is this some kind of a joke ? who are they kidding ?

Heck, if I have 10L to burn (and that too for a bike) I can get a brand new Phazer or may be a second hand R1/Busa.

Economic time carries an article few months ago about yamaha Launching a 1500cc bike named the Yamaha Dragstar!According to the article the price was estimated ar about 6Lakhs!

Its about time for Yamaha to steal the crown back, which it lost after stopping production of the RD. 1000cc V-max? Isnt it 1200cc? Anyway, it will still be very fast!

Well it actually was the Yamaha Dragstar 1,100 V twin Cruiser. It has been road tested in the April Issue of OD. They said Price would be 5 lacs and launch around Diwali.

Well Diwali is here.. the dragstar is not!

As I mentioned in my earlier posts too....Yamaha will be getting the R1 alongside the Dragstar 1100. The Dragstar will b launched early next year...and the R1 in Q1 2005 with a price tag of 1000K.

Dragstar is a 1063cc bike which was suppose to come in india at diwali time but this has not happened. 8-9 lakhs for a v-max is too much for a bike. we can get great but used sports bikes for that,as asprin said. Yamaha must bring the prices down to below 5lakhs. The difference between buying a used sports bike in India or even importing one from out-side after paying all the duties AND buying a costly sports bike from a showroom(in India) is that there are finance options available(in India) while in the former two cases we have to pay the cash in lump sum and may be in dollars So obviously many people will prefer the latter.

One more thing: I have seen many people go in for Yamaha bikes just for the sake of its name. The name Yamaha is good enough 2 set the adrinaline pumping in many youngsters Which even pulsar and Karizma may not do. Shouldn't Yamaha enter the new 250cc segment(presently spearheaded by karizma), first. I am sure a yamaha 250cc bike will be a great success if launched in India. But what we have seen since the beginning is lack of innovation & imagination from Yamaha india.
Not only were they late enterents into the 4-stroke market but the also have very large product cycles.

What say guys?

this may happen.....YAMAHA YZF R-1 is on display in a showroom in tvm.....muthoot motors.trivandrum.killipaalam......(blue one)they say that they will get u one if u pay 6 lac...and 6.8 on road.ya they said.....i took a photo from outside of the store...the didnt let us inside to take a photo...but its used(the one which was in the store)(i ve send the photo to sunny wait till he posts it in here)

cute guy r u mad...its clearely written on the bike thats its a 6 gear bike.....its mistake of showroom guys.....i even told them but no use....its a 4 cyl bike.....(u said 4 valves---how come??????)
and 150 hp.......those muthoot guys donno anything...........i evev showed them where the gear pattern is written but no use.....1 down-rest up.....sunny where did u post the pictures
