  • Bajaj & KTM also launching Electric Vehicles later in Europe/ US.

Bajaj & KTM to launch a range of electric vehicles.

Bangalore-based Reva Electric Car Company (RECC), two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors are finalising plans to launch electric vehicles in Europe and the US to take advantage of subsidies these countries are offering as part of their environmental agendas.

Meanwhile, Pune-based Bajaj Auto has tied up with European two-wheeler maker KTM (of which it owns 31 per cent) to launch a range of electric vehicles.
I suppose that the proposed vehicle "Bajaj Lite" maybe an electric one. In an earlier statement, Bajaj said that "Lite" would be positioned between Nano & Maruti 800 in terms of costing.

Well, with an electric powered engine, they might announce the Lite with an even more attractive price tag.

It maybe a small news, but it's relevant to the biker too.

Thanks Aryan bhaiya! Another revolutionary thing in the same article, that caught my eye was this:-->

Meanwhile, Tata Motors bought Norwegian electric vehicle manufacturer Miljo Gi last year. This company has tied up with Canada’s Electovaya, which will license its lithium ion battery technology. These batteries extend the driving range for one charge from about 80 km earlier to over 200 km, making it easier to take the car to longer distances. These batteries also take an hour to charge against eight hours earlier.
That means that it might seriously replace Petroleum Products, provided it's performance is acceptable ...

NOTE: I would be off due to exams, upto 27 May.

i dont think electric vehicles can match performance of petrol vehicles anyways.......
n 200 km means 100 km one way.
            n very limited use...
what if ur battery is over in the middle of the road
u can get petrol from other cars or bike wallas
where can u get ur battery charged?????

i know one day we will depend on this electric vehicles but that day is still far away
Hope is a good thing ,
