Any one using the same??Well comming back to the thread,do i use a PCV with the Yoshi R77D which is a 3/4 system and it has a link pipe decat with a threaded socket for the lambda sensor .Comments please !
Like I said in my first post, if you have lots of money to blow up then spend on a full system. But prioritize a PC please, may be even an air filter.

If I were you I'd get rid of the lambda sensor and plug in DJ's O2 eliminator with the PC.

As far as i know without a pc5 there surely will be a slight decrease in power and smoothness(from what ive observed). Ive heard an akropovic on the cb1000r,and it doesnt sound loud at all. Take a look at the leovince gp pro as it run equally well withour a pc5.
Akrapovic without baffles sounds deep, grunty and loud. We have 5 CBs in our group, all with akras. 6th one getting delivered today, he's putting on a racefit. Racefit by far is the best sounding exhaust I've heard on an inline 4 motor if you like your pipes LOUD, but that's just my opinion.

I have a yoshi on my FZ, sounds very nice. Deep, loud and grunty.

When I get a new bike an if racefit makes pipes for it you know which one I'll be going for Oh, also, I haven't come across another pipe as light as a racefit.

i can understand why we would need a fuel management if we had changed the air filter or the sub throttle plates but why do we need a fuel management when we are putting in just a exhaust system?
The objective of most engine modifications is to maximize the proper air to fuel flow into, and exhaust flow out of the engine. The inflow of air and fuel mixture is a separate issue, but is directly influenced by exhaust flow.
Below is some info I found online to better explain the answers to the questions you are seeking... (Big City Thunder - Are You Baffled?)

Anyway, so basically when you change any component of the exhaust system, unless the system is designed to work with stock fueling, its highly recommended to get a Power Commander and load a map that can get your air/fuel mixture to where it needs to be for optimal performance. These maps are specifically developed on dynos for the kind of modifications you make to your bike and can compensate for the modifications you make to your exhaust system and engine components.
        Hope this helps.
        Cheers

          ^^^ thnx carlitos....

btw how's your 1 doing??? any updates???

@capt: as far as the performance exhaust is concerned... one person in another forum has used a combination of arrown headers and akra slipon to get the akra look + the performance of full exhaust system - the cost of a full system.

it was however used on the fz1 but the person was able to get a 10hp increase in the mid range and some increase in the top end power as well along with a better delivery curve....

you can also check that option....

Most full systems are between 1 to 2 bhp of each other. So if you not looking for shaving off that last milli second on the track or a drag pick up a system which looks and sounds best to you. Like filters, exhaust is a category where every one has an opinion.

              Anytime man.
the one is doing great. Planning some mods in the next few months. Will keep you guys posted as always.

You can mix and match headers and exhausts mufflers from different manufacturers, but make sure there arnt any fitment issues. I would still recommend getting a slip-on and hooking up a PCV if the slip-on is not designed to work with stock fueling. If you think its not loud enough for you, then you can always buy a set of headers.

^^^ even i was thinking on the same lines... first get a slip on of your choice and then get the headers as and when budget permits... it wouldnt be as heavy as the full system on the wallet...

                  answer for exhaust is -
Akrapovic, 2bros, Yoshi & then the rest. If you ok with high pitch sound & i mean very high & loud then race fit is your cup of tea..

I guess i'll go in for Yoshi R77D which is 3/4th with a decat link provided.
PCV or not is still a big Q??Maybe later.
Any opinions ..... K&N v/s Original air filter?

                        Yoshimura R77D

Well finally got my Yoshi R77D and installed same.
The bike sounds awesome with the GP roar and looks cool too.
She's doing pretty well but for a lil pop here n there.
                        Guess PC5 should rectify same.

I dont think PCV is really need now in the sense that you r current setup wont damage the engine but you wont get much power gain from it, you are getting more sound because its a free flowing pipe, that's about it. If you want proper VFM then you need a PCV and a air filter. But in the end its your money, your bike and yours to screw up. Just my two cents

i know its late to ask this question. but why the need for a performance exhaust? have you really taken the to its potential and got bored with it to upgrade the exhaust?. sorry if i have offended u but its the question that comes to my mind when people do performance upgrades on sports/superbikes.
