    Hi Bike gurus,

I need an expert opinion on choosing amongst these bikes which I feel will fit me and my requirements which are
    1)Looks
    2)Power
    3)Pickup and
4)Mileage in that priority.Initially I thought will go for Stunner and after doing a test ride, somehow I didnt like it at all...Now the options I am looking for are :

    1) Yamaha FZ-S
    2) Pulsar 180 or 200
    3) Apache 160 or 180
    4) Honda Unicorn Dazzler

I have to travel about 20kms daily and average usage would be around 500 km per month.

My budget would be max 80k(Bangalore on road price)

Please help me in choosing one amongst these. It would be grateful if you could put the reason for choosing it too.

    Thanks,

    Sreejith

according to your given preferences and bikes -

Apache RTR 180 - Max power and pick up from the given bikes . gives mileage 40-45 . solid engine thats quite reliable as well and spares are also cheap .
cons - engine has vibes at 5-6k rpm range and seating is sporty so not good for very long rides .

Yamaha Fz 16 - nice and smooth engine with good midrange output . quite comfortable for city riding and looks good too with good handling and braking .

Pulsar 180 - [P200 has been discontinued] Jack of all trades . great looks ,decent power , great features and quite a VFM package .

Dazzler - very smooooooooth engine and gearbox thats been tested for long . decent power and the best mileage among the shortlisted bikes .

my pick -rtr 180 if it fits in budget .

Can someone tell me what are we referring to when someone say smooth engine?? is it engine noise or throttle response or exhaust note or none of them i.e. something else, which i'm not aware of.

Smooth means very silent engine, does not make noise in high speed run

My pick is P 180 amongst the all you have shortlisted.
                            Look: You know
Performance: If you maintain it well, it will take care of you for sure. Not my own experience-couple of my friends have real well maintained p 180 , one of them having for last 10 years(!!) and no complaint.
You will find the service centers anywhere in Bangalore (I am too in Bangalore)
Mileage: My experience says it is 45+ (you want more? then look for 150 cc), in city, on highway I get 50 sharp
                            Handling:I felt no cons
It does not vibrate at 100 kmph+ speed as it happens for RTR 180 (discussions say that)
It has MRF tire (RTR comes with TVS)

Now the other ones: Pulsar 150 is not the best in 150 segment, there I will choose Unicorn and nothing else (best performance with best mileage)
FZ never returns good mileage, nor RTR 160 (yes, RTR has best initial pick up anyday)

Now it is your call. Check for the negative points in all the bikes and see which is too bad for you and then strike out that name from your list.

                              Banglore.
Well .. With Above mentioned Requirement I wud suggest you look No further than RTR180, P180, and P220S

TD all these bikes asap and then decide..

For following bikes jus read my comments

                              1) Yamaha FZ-S - Truely a LORD of Streets. Low end Torque is Awesome and its eye catcher where ever you go ...
                              Come with Yamaha reliablibity..
Only thing is you have got to manage with Low FE.. You can expect around 35-38 kmpl in bangy's city riding..

                              2) Pulsar 180 or 200 - P200 was gr8 looking bike and even i wntd to have it .. But Now thts being discontinued.. I got settled with P180
P180 comes with a very good package of P&P (Power and performance).
You can expect FE between 45+ with sane riding its always go close to 50 KMPL.
If you are >= 6 feet then i wud say its gud option..

                              3) Apache 160 or 180
Personally i Just Liked Apache 180 right from the start when 1st i saw it... This is a gr8 performance oriented bike with awesome handling.
You gonna love it if you r ripper and speed crazy.
Vibs has been reduced and less thn rt 160(wont suggest 160)

                              4) Honda Unicorn Dazzler -- NO idea.. didnt get chance to check her..
Go for this if want Good FE close to 50 always..

And TD p220s as well .. it comes with in your range and just too gud to be a VFM..
you can check owners thread for more details.

                              Happy buying
