Me and some of my friends are planning a trip to any south indian hill station from dec 10th...mostly 5 days....

our plan is ooty.....(are 5 days necessary there???)

can anyone suggest any other hill-station and some details about the place and route...BTW, we start from Guntur, AP..

ann info on hotels and rates will also be very useful...

    thanks,
    Ajay

ooty is crowded and 100% tourist infested area! try to go see Mukurthi national park instead:

you can explore places around ooty and coonoor in 2 days with a bike easily, places to see which comes on top of my mind:
Doddabetta, keti falls, dolphin nose, another waterfall which is visible from dolphin nose, ooty to gudalur road

In Ooty heavy rain, roads damaged, bridges were washed out. 543 landslips in just two days, and 816 houses razed to debris. Besides, 600 hectares of crops devastated and road revetments damaged in 145 places. Above all, 43 precious lives lost and over 1,100 people left homeless. With the Ooty-Mettupalayam road severely damaged. Most of the tourists were unable to come back from ooty. Better cancel or change your trip.

cancelling the trip is out of the question as all of us are prepared...kindly suggest some other places like kodai, coonoor etc...

the place should be very cool with mist all over and lush green surroundings....

Dec 10th is a long way away, by that time rains would have subsided but I am not sure about the repair works. I am not sure that Kodai would be a right choice, better head to Munnar then

Ooty is in a total mess buddy, the roads are closed for yet another 15 days and this was the last update given by my friend last evening from ooty! And moreover it's just been a week since we had a G2G in ooty and we came back all soaked and i would strongly suggest u to not to get into trouble with natural calamities, better look out for another place buddy! Cos, it's a total disaster there!

ooty road is still blocked, in some place there is no bridge. kothagiri road is now opened and slightly coming to its normal position.
