  • Temple on the Edge : CHIRNER

    What a weekend it was.
Saturday- A quick run to Daman and
    Sunday - Chirner Offroading.

Unfortunately didn't took my camera on the Daman ride, but we have captured plenty of shots of our Offroading to one of the temple near by Chirner.
    Riders..
    Bibekjyoti.de P200
    Biru R15

Weekend was approaching and everyone was up and ready with his own personal plan.Couple of people going Pune,Couple of people going Matheran,Some of the Junta was thinking of the HD thingy and rest of the herd was deciding to chill out at home.
Me,bibek and Rio had some other plan in mind.we decided to run for Divegar on Sunday. But Rain god was also having his own plans . So we dropped the planned promising each other that we will go for a short ride when the rain is over..The medium of making promise was SMS

Morning was quite Shiny and Sunny..No sign's of clouds and rains.Rio dropped the short ride plan as he was not feeling well ( quite an old reason though ).So me and bibek met at kalamboli McD and started rolling on NH17..while reaching at the first toll naka at NH17..we took the rightmost road which goes to chirner. On way to chirner we saw a sign board of " DEVI MAA KA TEMPLE"..and there we saw a muddy track climbing up the hill..I immediately asked bibek let's do it..and buyback happily replied "chal basanti"

Luckily the muddy track was dry enough..People were parking thier bikes at the foot of the hill and were walking all the way to the Temple..But we took our babe's for some adventure. The offroading strech was about 2Km's with no plain streches in between..total ghats sort of (60 -70 deg).We climbed up the road the hill with very ease.Though there were some scary spots in between where the road has turned into excavation site due to the early morning rain. After reaching at the top we clicked some pics and went towards the temple after parking our bikes.

And what i saw was totally disapponting and ridiculous..around 8-9 peoples were boozing just at the entrance of the temple. It seemed to be a pre-planned party.Eating chicken..shouting loudly etc etc.We quicly made our way inside the temple, did the darshan, had some water. And started rolling back.

    Some pics..

    Halfway to the temple

Photography was not allowed at the temple so took a shot from the distance

That's all from my side..remaining pics are with Buybak baabu

Stay tuned to this thread for the more actions from 450D...

    Cheers
    Biru

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Can u ellaborate something about this Temple.....
Yeah man..it was amazing site from the top,bit scary though.
Temple is 5-6 years old there was some dhyaani baba..who used to do Durga pooja there and did the shilanyaas of the Devi mata's murti.
Near by villager became fan of the baba and when baba passed away..it became tourist place ..for the local drunkyards.

^^As told by a local bhau who was presnt there
May be our local Guide can throw some light into the matter

nice pics... awaiting more... would be great if you could give more details about the temple and the offroading xperience.
Thanks Josh..The offroading expirience was good but not long enough..whatever details i had, updated in the first post.

Yeah..The tyre is stock one.Grip was ultimate it climed the offroad ghats very easily ..in much easier way than the P200
But if the track would have been wet then..i would have faced some serious shit.

People like Biru, Bibek n all including myself, who stay in Mumbai and travel by bike during the peek hours of traffic(morning/evening) must be experts in off-roading.. as while finding our way through the traffic from the extreme left side of the road, we often do some serious off-roading. The shoulders of majority of roads in Mumbai are infested with half covered manholes, brocken or popped up tarmac, stones and what not.. It's a nice off-roading lesson for every Mumbaikar Am I right Bero?????
