hello guys.
it was 25th of jan when i first got the idea of going for a long trip. i told my friends about it and they were not too interested about it. but later , after much pestering , we agreed to go to a place called mulshi , some 70+kms from pune(where we live).
i asked permission at my place and my dad, being a bike enthusiast himself(and a tourer too) allowed me unless i was not taking my bullet. well, i never planned to take it as we wanted to do the trip on non geared bikes(no geared licence). let me tell u of my friends who all have been with me sice childhood and who were there 4 the trip
parinit(pari) , sohan , ashutosh (ashu). all of them have great interest in bikes, but ashu does not like touring[xx(].. pari got permission too.. and we decided to take only two bikes along with pillion so that riding fatigue would be reduced..
so we decided to go on sunday, the 1st of feb at 10 am.
preparations had started on saturday itself, with tanking up our bikes and i tuned my kinetic a little lean to improve mileage for the trip.
also washed my bike and tightened some few loose nuts.
and here we were.. on the 1st of feb .. 10 am at ashu's place(the meeting point) with parinit coming on time n sohan and me too

.. we set off at around 10.30 from aundh.. with our kinetic (mine) and dio(paris) gleaming in the sun.. we also called up another friend of ours to ask if he was coming, but he refused and we were on our way.
our first stop was at chandni chowk, some 7 kms from aundh and the place where we had to take a right to go to mulshi.i filled air in my tyres here at a fuel pump. and a ghat awaited us. i was very excited and hence did a few side stand scraping turns before everyone yelled at me[B)][V]. we started off again with me promising everyone that i will ride slow. from here we stuck to a slow 40kmph speed. we later stopped near manas resort for some photography. after a few photos we set off again. and there was a ghat again.. this one being one of my favorites ive ridden on the bull. desperately wanted to go fast but dint.. here we stopped again for some pix. and we started again. a few kms later we passed through pirangut. there some vip was expected and so there was a traffic jam with cops all around. we got stuck for nearly 10 mins here and soon after we exit, ashu told of some place his uncle had there. so we took a left and stopped at a place but ashu said we were wrong.. so we beat up poor ashu[}

](which we always do, without reason)

and a few photos later we left.. here i gave my bike 2 sohan 2 ride and told him 2 ride slow(which he never does). amazingly he did and we stopped again after 10-12 kms coz ashu wanted to piss. even we emptied our bladders here and waited for some time . then we started again , promising to stop only at mulshi. but promises are meant to be broken.. as proved by ashu as stopped us again to drink water[

]. we were around 40 kms away from mulshi. finally after some time we reached the diversion where one road goes straight up to sinhagad(a fort) and the right turn to mulshi. we took a right and rode straight up the hill to khanapur. there was a water park called pleazer point here. we debated whether to go but finally dint. here the road was smooth for a few kms. and empty too. but we never went over 40.finally the bad road started, telling us our destination was near. finally saw the board "private road by tata- trespassers will be prosecuted"(text not exact). herewe wanted 2 click pix, but the gaurd warned us not to, so we dint.. while we waited here a few st buses and a private bus alongwith lots of cars passed us.. so we had a lot of traffic ahead of us. th road to mulshi from here is a single laned one , winding , and very bad.after lots of honking, we overtook the st buses before ashu wanted to piss(AGAIN!!!). so we stopped again and clicked a few snaps. the st buses all passed us again[|)]. so we started and the bus drivers were kind enuff to let us by again. finally the bad road started and how my kinetic's suspension ironed out the irregularities still amazes me. we finally stop for lunch at a place called disha's dhaba(a restaurant) at 12.30.. hungry.. but proud of the fact that we had averaged only 35 kmph..
we ate a lot here and the food was tasty too(maybe not, coz we were damn hungry and everything eaten in hunger is tsaty). bill came to 201 rs. cheap , considering the amt of food we ate. from here i tell the guys of a ghat that starts some 20 kms from here. the ghat being under raigad district has very smooth roads. so we start again.. here i give my bike 2 sohan again 2 ride.. after 10kms or so we stop at a place for some photos. the mulshi lake is also close from here by foot, but we decide not to leave our bikes. so we move ahead. a few kms later we see a dirt track leading down to the water. it was much worse than our mtb trails. but we decide to go.. and we do.. finally we park our bikes only 10 mts away from the water, witha an amazing backdrop of rocks. here we click a few photos and also wet our shoes(finally!!!!)also one roll is over and i change the roll in my cam.
as we go up again(me n ashu walking n pari n sohan on the bikes), we decide not to go ahead as i wwas not certain how far the ghat yet was.so we go back again and shoot even more pix on the way back. somewhere on this road i lose my cam cover. a few kms later we find a cool place 4 a snap again. n do it and get bk on the way.. we are tired now. its 3.00 pm.. we have a few sips of water and get on our way. on the way we see a cool modded zen with a rally like exhaust.. wanted 2 click snaps but dont.. with a few more pix thrown in between , we finally exit mulshi at around 4.00 pm. we also decide to go to hinjewadi, where our company is and also lot more iIT companies. our mobiles had no range since 12.00 noon as told by my mom(who had tried over 100 times) when i called up from a pco near pirangut. also tell her trhat we are coming there. from here there is a turn to the left towards hinjewadi. here paris bike stalls mysteriously and refuses to start even after several kicks. even the starter refused to start it. we wait for 5 mins n then ashu kickfires the dio to life. then we start and the road here is good. here we take punga with a local guy on a cd100.. and win!!
he was lookin at us as if he was going 2 kill us. then after a few kms, we see a descent. here we switch off our bikes , and reach the highest speed of our trip---- 50 kmph!!!!!!

later we reach my rubber factory and my mom shows us around the factory. also being made then were inflatable boats. but they were not ready so couldnt boat.
we leave from there and i show them around hinjewadi. we click a snap of geometric solutons(a co.) afer waiting 4 nearly 15 mins 4 the gaurd 2 go away. finally do and in the next 30 mins clck pix of we near merc benz intrnat. skool and symbi n a beautiful building of cognizant.
then we decide to ride on the highway and get off it near sadanand resort so that we could drop ashu at his place. and we did the same.
here we knew that our trip had ended. discuss 4 some time, crack some jokes and then we leave. pari n me separate at parihar chowk(aundh) and then sohan n me proceed 2wards my place. also give roll 4 developing on the way. drop sohan at his place and finally reach home at 6.45pm.. tired and happy .. our bikes had taken it all without any protest.. thanked god 4 keeping us safe(and sohan 2)..
i wait 4 my dad 2 come home.. n when he does i tell him everything.. he's happy 2..
hope 2 do a few more trips on my kinetic b4 i finally get my bull....
and then do what i have dreamt..................

u r very lucky,man.my parents don't even let me go to a place near my city(ludhiana) which is just 45 kms. away and on Delhi-Amritsar NH-1

ya.. we had gr8 fun.. covered 160 kms total
my dad allows me coz he too goes on long business tours on the bullet and takes me along too.. so i have enough riding experience even with my dad[:I]..
and amazingly my 32-35 kmpl returning kinetic returned more than 45 kmpl.. felt proud of my kinetic n myself too
and whacky_brains , how old are you?? me 17 ..

Nice trip satya...
that reminds me of the 2 trips we had to mulshi on my Karizma accompanied by a Fiero and a RXZ. It was the rainy season then, we drove in rain...its a hell of a fun ride man...try it sometime in June-July...u'll never forget that trip...
