Tip of the Day

Hide and safe

Let a couple of other larger vehicles get across the crossing before you when the light goes green. Use them as moving shields across the intersection. They can take a hit and survive....you won't.

    Arrow Trimbakeshwar

    Place : Trimbakeshwar, Nasik

    Distance :
    Mumbai-Trimbakeshwar is ~180 km

    Type :
Temple / Hill Station / Ghat

    Nearest Highway :
    NH3

    Best Season to visit :
Monsoon / Winter (Monday to see the jeweled crown which is on display from 4 to 5pm)

    Tips/Suggestion/Warning :
Trimbakeshwar temple is a religious center having one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The extraordinary feature of the Jyotirlinga located here is its three faces embodying Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra. The temple is known for its appealing architecture and sculpture and is at the foothills of a mountain called Brahmagiri from which the holy river Godavari originates.

While on NH3 when you cross Igatpuri, you will come across a toll plaza near Ghoti, just after which there would be a right turn indicating way to Ghoti village and Bhandardara Dam and after few 100 meters you will come across a left turn on the corner of which there is board mentioning "Trimbakeshwar - 62km", its a state highway which winds along the upper vaitarna dam backwaters famous for its scenic beauty. Do visit Gautam Kund near the temple and if time permits climb 350 odd steps to visit the source of river Godavari in the Brahmagiri mountain just next to the temple. There are locker services available near the temple along with many hotels to stay and eat.

Note: The Lingas at Trimbakeshwar are covered by a jeweled crown which is placed over the Gold Mask of Tridev (Brahma Vishnu Mahesh). The crown is said to be from the age of Pandavs and consists of diamonds, emeralds, and many precious stones. The crown is displayed every Monday from 4-5 pm

    Temple Timings : 5:30am to 9pm

    Visual Aid :

Map : We took this route.

    Hey guys,

    M a new member here on xBhp.com

I've done a few rides along with my group which I'm sure you guys wanna enjoy..

    Place : Suryamal/Khodala

Distance : Around 150-180 kms via Shahapur/Tansa Village

    Type : Hill Station/Heaven

    Nearest Highway : NH3

Best Season to visit : July - October especially August-September

Tips/Suggestions/Warnings : You gotta reach Khodala/Jawhar before dark cause there's no place to stay in between. If something happens to your vehicle then you are doomed cause there's no mechanic in sight for miles together. Dont go alone here on a ride. You will need company to help you out in trying circumstances

Visual Aids : Greenery and Greenery and Greenery acres and acres...Good winding roads which we bikers love to ride on and of course....Waterfalls, streams, rivers by the road and beautiful tribal villages, mountains and clouds...you will be in seventh heaven.

    Travelogues : GrOuP Of FuRj

vj22961 welcome to xBhp-Mumbai gang and thanks for sticking to the format ... The place sounds interesting but some pics and location on map in the Visual Aid section would be more helpful. You can edit the post for that.

Please share your details in "Who Are You?" section. Your first post being in "The Tourer" section surely indicates of you being a touring enthusiast, correct me if im wrong !!

Tips/Suggestion/Warning : Nice roads for cornering and having some fun on bikes.Be careful of on-coming vehicles as NH222 is two-laned highway and has no divider, especially during monsoon mornings when the ghat is fully covered by dense fog making visibility very low. There is a MTDC resort on looking over a beautiful valley which needs to be pre-booked online.
Went to this place on the 5th, it was awesome. Got to experience all kinds of weather, sunny, cold, heavy rains all in one trip. Thanks guys i think this thread will help a lot so keep updating it. cheers

Nice work Rony, This is really helpful. I have a really small bike(twister110cc) so cant go on such long rides but this is really interesting.

Had been to Ashtavinayak yatra on 12th, so my bus passed through Malshej Ghat.
Trust me i was expecting a lot from that place but it disappointed me.May be because the place was very very sunny. Also saw the lake, it was almost tried up.Ghats were awesome.
Was planning to ride there this sunday, but thinking of changing the plan.would ride somewhere else..

    Place : Harihareshwar Beach

    Distance : 220 Kms

    Type :
    Beach

    Nearest Highway :
    NH 17

    Best Season to visit :
    Winter

Tips/Suggestion/Warning : While going we took the coastal road which is little longer but worth taking since you can go through Alibagh, Kashid Beach and Murud - Janjira. Best would be to stay in Murud and start early next morning to Harihareshwar beach and there is srivardhan beach too on the way which is similar to the other beaches. The road from Murud to Srivardhan is awesome goes through a small hilly region and the road is twisting and turning though some patches are really bad which you can expect in a state highwway . While coming back we took the Goa - Mumbai Highway which was much shorter and time saving.

Hope this is of some help
Dude can you shed some more light on the trip or may be the route which you guys took

We started on a saturday morning from powai, took the vashi bridge, went to JNPT road via uran road and this leads to pen from where it gets diverted to Alibag. We stopped for a bite and a puncture in the rear tyre of the R15. Headed straight to Murud along the coastal road stopping at kashid (a very nice beach with less crowd) on the way. Then after reaching Murud it was really tough to find a room but somehow managed it. That day being a holiday it was full otherwise people say it's easy to find one. Spent the rest of the day in and around Murud.
The next day got up early and started towards Srivardhan Beach and a guy in the hotel told it's easier and shorter by ferry and travel by road is tough due to a hilly patch and all but that was exactly what we wanted and we got a wonderful lonely stretch of good road where we could test our bike's handling and all. Reached Srivardhan in no time, a nice beach with hardly any people. Then went to Harihareshwar from there, again a very nice beach with lots of rocks too. Very scenic and the best of the lot. After lunch we started back to mumbai and this time we took the NH 17, a road connected directly to the highway from the beach. It took us much less time this way but coastal route was more interesting for obvious reasons. Attaching some photos
