A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Awesome hai bhai.. too good...![]()
Place : Wai-Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar
Distance : Approx 300kms (including visit to all major points in Panchgani & Mahabaleshwar) one way. To & Fro 600kms
Once you reach Wai -
Wai-Panchgani -- 23kms
Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar -- 19kms
Type : Hill Station / Ghat
Waterfall - Should be there
Nearest Highway :
NH4 - Opted for this route. Was damn good.. The roads are just too good to ride on.
NH17 - Alternate route - Will probably try this route next time
Best Season to visit : Summer/Monsoon/Winter
This place can be visited any time during the whole year. It has its different charm in each and every season.
Summer will be warm, Monsson will be a treat with the lush greenary all around and Winters would be chilling.
So its upto you us to decide which season we would prefer
Tips/Suggestions/Warnings :
Accomodation : There are budget hotels available which accomodate 3-4 people per room for about 700-1000 bucks per night. (Rates vary during weekends and holidays).
History/myths behind it : Sorry but I am a bit weak in this. Not aware of any such info
Out of personal experience and for beginners like me please take extra care while riding in the Ghat section. During our visit a young boy about 20 years of age had met with an aweful accident and died on the spot while overtaking a dumper truck. So no matter if you lose some time but be careful.
Food: If you are a foodie and love non-vegatarian food dont miss out on this. There are many dhabas on the way to Mahabaleshwar from Panchgani where the serve authentic Maharashtrian chicken and mutton dishes. We tried the Gaavran Kombadi Vade (Chicken and a variety of roti/puri) typical maharashtrian style. This was tried out at Shivneri Dhaba just 3-4 kms before Mahabaleshwar on Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar route. This is a personal opinon as we loved the food. If there are better places available then please share with all.
And yes... Strawberries... Dont forget to get these...
Visual Aids :
For Map details just get the directions from Google maps. There are two ways
1) Taking NH4 i.e. Mumbai-Pune route
2) Taking NH17 i.e Mumbai-Goa route
Wai-Panchgani lies enroute Mumbai-Pune road. Best thing can be opt for NH4 from Mumbai. Visit Wai-Panchgani on the way. Stay at Mahabaleshwar and take NH17 while coming back.
Travelogues : I am yet to write a travellouge on this trip and once done will update the link and pics.
Feedbacks are most welcome
