Very very important lessons from my trip recently in heat.

1. Dont carry glucose. Carry Electral Packets. Every hour or so dunk one packet in a litre of water and consume as much as u can. Every hour one litre of electral should enter you system.

2. Riding for long hours in heat makes the skin on the shoulders burn and it starts to peel off after a day or so. Put a wet towel on ur shoulders then wear the tshirt then the jacket. During stops just pour a lil water on the shoulder to dampen towel inside.

3. If possible take a night ride - DONT RIDE IN THE HEAT - its useless. I'd rather take my chances in the nite rather than riding in the heat.
hey tushalb, didnt read ur post while i was replyin back..ok i will carry Electral Packets..
skin peels off?????? godd.. gettin scared

thx viveksh for d tips.. i know u hv been many trips.. i will definately use ur tips man..

and even take watermelon juice if u find on way.
got lots of glucose in it.
see that u dont lose vitamins so keep taking other juices also.

chill man...
y r u taking so much of pain & punishing ur body ???
.
what will happen, if all of sudden u becomes drowsy due to heatstroke or something like that ...???[?] they don't give u any warnings b4 hitting u ...!!!
If that happens, then my dear friend, u will open ur eyes on the hospital bed ... !!! sorry for being rude/harsh...[}]
.
do the following, instead of all things suggested so far ...
pick the keys of your car, start car, switch on the AC, drive to ur destination in ultra-comfort... no need to carry electrol, glucose, wet towels, diapers, etc... Infact in your car you will be 'carefree & stayfree & stainfree ...' ... !!![]
.
second option is ...
come out of ur home, sit in an autorickshaw, reach ISBT Kashmere Gate, sit in a Deluxe Bus, stretch yourself whenever you want to, relax, enjoy, read, listen to music, sleep, do whatever you can do ... []
.
what say buddy ...
.
I mean y 2 take so much of pain just for few hours of stay there & more hours of journey in scorching sun ...[?]
I know that u LOVE BIKING but that fun factor can take a backseat for the timebeing & if you stayed healthy then u can fulfil your appetite for biking in nice weather ...[8D]
.
think about it & decide ...
.

it shudn't rain coz then all the g2g stunts and all will be a flop
rather pray for some cloudy weather

also, these days the hot local winds are blowing at some speed and for me,it gets difficult to drie bike above 60kmph because of the gr8 heating effect that wind produces.
so,take all necessary precautions b'fore starting!
