wear full clothing( i mean jacket & gloves) to protect from sun stroke & wear a wet cloth arnd ur nect so that u wont dehydrated & keep it wet by soaking it in water whenever u stop... also if ur properly covered i.e. no body part showing then it will help in hydration & also u'll feel less tired..
p.s. another desi nuskha is keeping a slice of onion under ur armpit which will save u from sun stroke but then u'll be stinky

yeah,...have that wet cloth around ur neck...u have to keep the nape of ur neck wet to avoid sunstroke..and yes, full clothing is a must.
Carry some water with u to have atleast every hour... If ur face starts to sweat, then open the visor for just a bit to let the air in or it can get too stuffy inside ur helmet. Everytime u stop, stretch and dont let ur body get exhausted under the heat. ...in a few days, I might be just going to Agra...so, well guys, any more tips for me too?

yeah carrying a packet of glucose or a bottle of water with glucose in it is also a good option.. but the wet cloth is necessary if its 40+ hot & dont worry it be comfy & dry before u'll know it.. its also necessary coz the heat is very try in the norther regions & neck is the only area which cannot be covered completely by jackets etc & even if they do it will coz sweating which will coz dehydration

Very very important lessons from my trip recently in heat.
1. Dont carry glucose. Carry Electral Packets. Every hour or so dunk one packet in a litre of water and consume as much as u can. Every hour one litre of electral should enter you system. 2. Riding for long hours in heat makes the skin on the shoulders burn and it starts to peel off after a day or so. Put a wet towel on ur shoulders then wear the tshirt then the jacket. During stops just pour a lil water on the shoulder to dampen towel inside. 3. If possible take a night ride - DONT RIDE IN THE HEAT - its useless. I'd rather take my chances in the nite rather than riding in the heat. |

It's mostly summers only when we go to hill stations and therefore hours of journey in severe heat. I too tie up wet cloth around face that cover upto neck and wear cotton gloves and drop some water on gloves also (only upper part not on palms). An ultra-light windcheater will work. This gives you very comfortable feeling. Try this, you'll love it. I have never suffered from headache due to this.I have been doing it for years.

wow..thx a lot guys.. nice tips
![]() finally i am thinkin of wearin a tshirt and jeans with a cloth jacket. will carry glucose mixed in water. n ya wet hankin on my neck..plus load of deo so that by the time i get 2 ludhiana, the ludhiana xbhpians dont run away! he he he i will start at 5 from delhi so that i can cover up as much as i can b4 the road starts baking.. but real test will be wen i will come back next day from jallandar coz i will start at around 9am n will reach delhi by 2:30 pm or so.. hey desi nuskha:will have lots of lassi from highway dhabas.. also,i will b drivin around 90-95 plus it will so hot so air inside tyres will expand. many mags say that one shd keep air pressure above normal for highways.. hhml says 30psi in rear for single rider. i will be keepin 32 takin into consideration my weight (83kgs) plus weight of luggage n continous drivin n the heat of the road.. is 32 ok? or shall i keep it 33-34?
