Been on a 200 km ride on Sunday to a place called Maaredumilli famous for its scenic beauty and spectacular forest roads with fast sweeping twisties. Located in a higher altitude compared to surrounding plains it is relatively cool throughout the year.
This place is around 90 Km from the City of Rajahmundry, started the ride alone by 9:30 AM towards the Airport road, the beauty of the roads covered with lush greenery starts after 20Km. Though it rained for some 5 or 6 Km and subsided, it was all the more beautiful to start the journey in this way. Riding at moderate 60-70 Kmph and enjoying the picturesque scenery en-route with canopies of evergreen trees that drape the path everywhere and with undulating terrain, which forms part of the Eastern Ghats, it sure makes your heart flutter with joy and brings a smile on your face when the sun plays peek-a-boo non-stop all through the day and sprinkles its incredible crepuscular rays (God’s rays) on you and giving out an impression of a panorama painted by God. The landscape is so breathtakingly beautiful that it chokes you up with emotion and that you’d wish you could etch it in your heart forever. “Bamboo Chicken” is a tribal recipe from the forests of Maaredumilli in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. The chicken gets cooked with the inherent moisture inside the bamboo. The local tribes invented this method ages ago but it’s not available to the outside world until recently. I decided to watch the method of preparation closely and found one place where it’s being done n the open area. The method is to cut the bamboo and stuff the marinated meat pieces into bamboo stems. And the opening is stuffed with banana leaves. The stems are then placed on fire, allowing the chicken to set in. The entire cooking is done without using oil or water. The whole process took over half an hour. The taste is very unique. Chicken with bamboo stem aroma is totally different. At 1:30 PM started back home and reached by 4:30 PM.

Nice pics buddy.
Last weekend I was having bamboo chicken rice at a Chinese restaurant here&was just wondering-why don't we get bamboo chicken too! That brown color of the chicken (must be juicy white inside) looks so tempting-I wouldn't mind riding a couple of hundreds for that too!
