Default Short Ride to Shivanasamudra Falls

Last weekend i did an unplanned Ride to Shivanasamudra Falls near Bangalore. Awesome Falls - would have been better if i had been there during the peak season time - as it would have been much more Fantastic.
For now couple of Panaromic Pictures - will come back with a short Ride report

Short Weekend Ride to Shivanasamudra Falls and Bangalore

It was Wednesday evening, when i finalized to meet up my Friends at Bangalore on Sunday. Now my bike wasn't serviced and the SVC guys weren't ready to give my bike by Friday. Tried booking tickets through rain /Bus but wasn't successful - somehow managed to book my Return tickets for sunday. Checked up with couple of my friends whether someone had any plans to ride via Bangalore and indeed there were a few (i would say 3 ppl) - confirmed my Ride as Pillion first time

As Planned we started by 3am on saturday - My friend Tarun picked me up in his C500 and we were heading to DLF where Steve would be waiting for us.In another 20 min, we reached and had a quick chat with Steve and Ananth who was there to send us off. One more person who would join our ride was Yuvi who would join us near Poonammallee. We started our Ride and after few kms from Poonamalle Yuvi joined us and there it was nice chilly ride away from chennai city and we cruised in 90's and the C500 vibes kept me awake

Took a Short Tea-Break at Vellore and continued ride - tanked up our bikes at Krishnagiri and reached Kamat for breakfast. With our tummies full we started our ride to bangalore. Now we realised that we hadn't clicked any pick - clicked a group pic before we left the hotel and rode 40kms to reached bangalore and Praful was waiting near the junction to direct us to Nice Road. After a short chat about the routes to take and we took left for Nice Road. After the Toll for Tumkur Road, me and Tarun took the left for the falls; whereas Steve and yuvi went straight ahead as they had a long ride to Belgaum.

Group - Tarun - Steve - Yuvi - Me

From there on i took the bars and was riding meanwhile Tarun dozing off as a pillion :-) Soon we reached Shivanasamudra and checked with locals for the route and reached Barachukki Falls first. Being a holiday weekend, there was a good number of people flocked over and We started to click the pictures of the falls. It was a memsmerising view and seriously got to make another trip during the full season time. Clicked some photos and tried to trek/walk down to the bottom of the falls - but riding as a pillion from chennai was hard and that toll on my didnt allow me to go down.

Some pics enroute to Gaganachukki

From there on we moved to another Falls - Gaganachukki (Cauvery Falls) - another fantastic set of falls and the view was awesome from the View point. This time i had my Nikon S3100 - which was good but lacked the zoom. Tarun who was with his SLR set forgot his zoom lens, so both of us weren't to zoom and take some close up shots of the falls. It was 5pm, and we decided to ride to mysore and try to take some pics of the Mysore place litted up - but by the time we reached it was around 6.30pm and as we didn't book any room for stay and being an long weekend - all the lodges/hotels were full and we had a hard time finding one. finally somehow managed to find 2 single rooms which were the last in that lodge and crashed in our luggage and went right away to the palace. Badluck the lights were lit only for half-an hour that the usual 1 hours and we were 10 minutes late With no other option went back to room and got refreshed - had dinner and went to sleep as we were to start early by 5.30am.

Alarm rang by 5am and called up Tarun in another room to get ready - by the time we checked our it was 6am and went directly to the Palace to click some early morning snaps. We found the main entrace gate wasn't gaurded and tarun set inside the rail to click the palace with his wide angle lens - meanwhile i stood gaurd for him and the bike  Tarun returned with some decent pics and after my pic with palace backdrop - moved ahead to the Airforce Selection Board where i spent a week when i wrote my SSB and had a chat with the Security and convinced him to allow me to take a pic and felt good as am gonna meet up the friends whom i made 7 years ago here, at Bangalore the same evening

From there Tarun left me at the Busstand and left to ooty; i took a bus to Bangalore - Met my friends and had a nice time. Took my Bus back to Chennai with some nice, beautiful and warm feelings.
