Thumbs up Kerala----payback ride to God's own country.

Completed ride to Kerala and back, clocked 4610 Kms in all.

Me and Deepan Devraj aka xstunter started off on Friday 12th Aug 8.00pm
and ended our ride on 22Aug 9.30pm.
Bike ride to Gods own country was always a dream ride for me,
I had promised Deepan that I will also join him in the month of DEC,
but little did I know I would be accompanying him this soon and get ready
for it in weeks time.

That day I was in Karjat in my room chatting with my friends and Deepan called
me and informed me about ride to Kerala and asked me to accompany him,
that completely shocked me,
as till date I had only 2 day ride or maximum of 3day ride to Malwan.
I started to think can I do it in terms of permission from home and financially
as I am still a student, have to depend on pocket money for everything.

I call this ride a payback ride because it was me who insisted Deepan for Malwan
ride and convinced him for it and now it was his turn to convince me
and my turn for payback.

Here are some teaser pics before the action begins.

Wonderful pictures! We want more!

For some strange reason, the Vandiperiyar shot looks a little less green - Was it hot and dry in Vagamon ? I thought it was still raining!

WOW the thread is up and getting in its swing. By the way nice name Sagar for the thread.

Just a small piece of my mind regarding the ride or my dream ride to my native. I wont be posting much or any further details as Sagar needs to increase his post counts .
I had visited my hometown Kerala in March 2009 after 9 years and we had taken an auto rickshaw ride from one relatives house to other when I noticed the awesome roads of Kerala. That day I had decided that one day I would ride on the roads of Kerala and even if that meant to bring the bike by train to Kerala. Later in the beginning of this year I started planning for my biggest dream ride to Leh and I told myself that I would do the ride to Kerala in Dec 2011, exactly six months post my Leh ride.
During my Leh ride Sachin Nair and few others showed interest in riding with me to Kerala. The Leh ride got completed in June and I had covered 3500 Kms during this ride. During the first week of August I saw that I had holidays on 13,14,15,19,20 & 21 of Aug. I did overtime and worked from fridday morning to Saturday eve and managed to take compensatory leaves on 16 and 17. Now it meant I need to take just 1 day leave and I get a whole 9 days leave. The leaves were thus fixed. Now it was time to get some company for the ride.
I had approached Sachin Nair and Kishore Embranthiri as they both were keenly intersted in this ride earlier. But due to the last moment ride confirmations they could not accompany for the ride. So then I approached Sagar as I knew he was a student and it is easier to bunk college than take leaves from office also I had ridden with him earlier in a long ride to Malvan for 3 days. Pestered him and he agreed for the ride.
So the ride was confirmed and my dream ride to my native place begins.

Further details along with some mouth watering pics would be posted by Sagar for some reasons mentioned earlier.

Not to forget :- Thanks a lot to Srinivasan Rajagopalan a.k.a steveburnside2001 for preparing the route map for me and Rohit Upadhyay a.k.a Beruoist for guiding me.

@ Ananth - Yeah the Wagamon and the surrounding areas were all dry and hot. We too were surprised by the dryness that too in monsoon

Regards,
Deepan

to our suprise it was all dry and sweaty we were prepared for worst rains but deepan would always say "yaar apna luck bahut acha hai".
It use to rain heavily when we were indoors like night time but once sun rises rain use to stop and climate was as perfect as it can be.
