Default In search of a perfect day

It was exactly 10:40AM when I woke up my Kajal, she just roared without any sign of sluggishness after a cold rainy night unlike me. It was half an hour back I decided to go on a trip to Pondicherry and just 5 minutes prior to that decision, I woke up! Being a guy, I did not take much time to get ready for the fun filled trip (hoping to be one!) I packed my back pack with few biscuit packets, face wipes, my SLR and few chewing gums to freshen my since I know I won’t have chance to open my mouth for next few hours and to avoid me smelling bad to my helmet.
I rolled my dear Kajal and to a bunk nearby where I fueled her. I could sense the women fueling looking at me differently, I found out the reason to be my costume. I was in a Yamaha racing jacket and denims. Racing gloves, shoes on my hands and foot respectively. But I never cared for the looks I get from the people, because it was my safety that comes first and I simply don’t care what others think about me!
My Kajal was filled to her brim of her tank and tires and soon I started drive like a sweat drop that travels from the forehead to the chin with lots of turns and pauses on a beautiful face, Chennai's north to the south, 'Kotturpuram' and it was 11:30 when I reached Madhya Kailash. Err…. Hell a lot of traffic!
Once I was in the 'Rajiv Gandhi IT expressway', it was really bliss to drive without keeping my foot on the tarmac and clutching my baby every 10 meters. Then I detoured to one of the beautiful roads of Tamil Nadu, the ECR. I decided on some rules earlier not to go over 130kmph, no racing and never cross 9000RPM unnecessarily for the whole trip today but there came a necessity , a fellow R15 came from nowhere and was testing (teasing) my patience, he was making his bitch scream, continuously vrooming and pulsating me. And now it was time to teach him some lessons, damn how i forgot my rules :P
We started simultaneously burn some rubbers at the green light near the 'Kottivakkam' bus stand. I was down struck by his stupid gear shifts and the same made him loose to me and my Kajal . I and my Kajal made him eat all the dust and I could see his reflections on my mirror turning at 'Shollinganallor' link road. Soon I came back to my senses! I asked myself where my rules ran away. And I convince myself no more racing, strictly!
After few minutes I was almost out of city and road was empty, nearly. I crossed several educational institutions wondering if they are really worthy to study! I crossed 'Mayajaal' and soon I was officially out of city and entered state highway 49. I came across some famous fun spots like ‘MGM’, 'Dakshinachitra' and 'Muttukadu boating point'.

Sooner my stomach started to sound more than my Kajal. I almost forgot my breakfast today morning and it was time for me to stop for a 'chai', I stopped at the 'East Coast Road Dhaba', where I have already visited but it was not when I was a lone rider or probably when I had someone to take care for, other than my Kajal. It’s a beautiful place for spending good time with someone you love a lot, like me and my Kajal! Just left the place with taste of tea on my tongue and some sweet memories inside.

After few minutes of riding, I crossed 'Kovalam beach', 'Thiruvidhanthai','Crocodile bank' and several housing companies and lots of beach resorts and beach houses, wondering if I could buy one and it’s a dream for now But at the present I lack vitamin ‘M’ :P, who would not love a house welcoming the breezy beach wind!
Soon I crossed ‘Maamallapuram’ and few more places like 'Nemmeli', 'Mudaliarkuppan' after few minutes. I could see people staring at me, smiling, sometimes waving at me and a few times I saw couples scratching each other to look at me to be precise my jacket and gloves and my dear Kajal at times. I drove at a constant speed of 90kmph and a fewer times ranging between 90 and 125kmph and the maximum I drove that day was 138kmph. The road was narrow and was greens on both sides.

I stopped for the second break at ‘Kalpakkam’, in a small motel for having a 'chai'. Also I felt she might need some break, say some 5 minutes. And we were in tarmac once again. It was near a place called 'Marakkanam', I saw a biker in green Ninja, dressed almost like me flashing his bike light at me and showing thumbs-up. I reciprocated the same and it was a beautiful feeling that one will have when one finds someone speaking their mother tongue, while stranded all alone in Russia!!
I was checking my trip meter and found I was almost nearing Pondicherry, and the shops on the either side of the roads symbolized the same. There were several shops that sell handcrafted statues of stones, and wood carvings, and I should mention about the French windows too!

I could see traffic hitting the road once again, and I crossed the famous Pondicherry Engineering College and Pondicherry University. In a few minutes I was in Pondicherry local and the time was 1:30PM. I drove Straight to Arabindho Aashramam located close to the Pondy beach. I succeeded folding my jacket and gloves on to my back pack and left to aashramam leaving my shoes to fill an empty slot on the shoe rack. Meditating for half an hour gave me good peace of mind and really aashramam is indeed a good place if someone is really in need of POM!
I was late for my lunch, with the guidance of an autowala I found a good place, hotel Kaarthi for my lunch. 40 bucks was reasonable for the lunch they provided and still I have to taste of the 'vathakuzambhu' on my taste buds of my tongue. And the rest was very much enough for my Kajal. I left to beach and spend half an hour there taking some snaps and feeling the breeze tickling your body through neck and sleeves was almost like heaven. It was Bliss!

Later it was by 3:30Pm I started from Pondy. Once again near 'Kalpakam' I found another fellow biker crossing me in a similar costume like mine in his karizma ZMR, similar way we flashed and waved at each other. And immediately after few kilometers I saw the road stranded with full of people helping police clearing an accident. The victim was in his Chevy Cruise hit by a Volvo AC govt. bus tripping between Chennai and Pondicherry. I could see the car bearing a heavy damage and found the bonnet hardly! on the car remaining.
I shifted to my regular speed limits and the sky was still clear as I expected it to be. I was really worried about the rains, since, for the past few days Chennai was showered by heavy rain and my worry was only about the expensive SLR I carried with me! Soon after ‘Maamallapuram’ I saw two or three persons standing at the road sides and I saw a calf lying on the road and stopped there to see what it was. It was horrible to see a cute calf with its leg being run over by some idiotic motorist. We all carried the calf to the road side and nothing was to worry other than a deep cut on its skin, luckily no broken bones. I along with other men there called a few locals and traced the owner of the calf, In between that I saw a cow standing at a distance from us looking at the calf with a worried eye while the other cows were just still gracing, the owner of the herd told that she was the mother of the injured calf! The cow doesn't know how to help her kid but she had the true love and affection in her eyes.
Astonished by the cow, and I was back on ride and I stopped once again at the same ECR Dhabha for a chai, sparing few minutes, I was in the city limits. I crossed the Toll gate and entered city limits. There was heavy traffic at 'Thiruvanmiyur'. I was entering 'Madhya Kailash junction' at 5:15PM and by 5:45PM I hardly covered a kilometer on my speedo.I cursed the slow moving traffic and silly people with no lane discipline. By 5:50Pm I reached 'Kotturpuram' and I drove up to north most Chennai.
I was home by 6:30PM and soon found my reserve light blinking and the trip meter showing 320.9km, and the average mileage was 30km on this trip. This is the longest ride in bike ever in my life. I ran inside home as the raindrops tried and failed to bathe me, I covered my darling and thanked her for a wonderful day we had!
