Trip to Srisailam from Hyderabad will be a very good one, I suggest you not to take the ORR for the obvious reasons, First because of the safety and second because its not legal and now there might be increased patrol due to the unfortunate events on it with bikes.

For starting from BHEL, I think..... take the road towards mehdipatnam, The 216 busroute if I remember, ie the old bombay highway, Just before you reach MP rythubazar you will see the PV Narasimha Rao express highway(PVNR), Follow the route under the PVNR to reach Shamshabad airport, Once you turn left towards the airport from the Bangalore Highway, The road leading to the Airport is itself the Road to Srisailam.

You will enjoy the route because it will gradually become challenging and scenic with every KM, For food I suggest you take at Dindi,There are few udipi hotels there, I think its at halfway distance to Srisailam.Hope you have a great ride

Broadly, two routes to reach Srisailam. One is via Pahadi-Sharief and the other one, a bit longer is via Nagar-Kurnool.
The first one is already given. The second one is to go to Jadcherla, and immediately after crossing the flyover, you need to turn left to Nagar-kurnool and then you will directly reach the mannanur checkpost. The first route does have some sudden and unmarked speed-breakers, so you need to keep a watch for it. The second route, on the other hand, has pretty smooth roads. Even the village roads are pretty smooth and no speedbreakers at all.
