Hello again folks,

This time I intend to escape to Spiti Valley and if time permits till Chandertal.

I have gone through various posts in this forum and come to know that from Delhi I might take Shimla route or Manali one.

Lots of questions as this will be our first ride to the north and hope to get some good help on these.

a.Time constraint : I'll be having around 8-9 days in my hand to cover this. So is this time enough ?

b.We will be travelling in first week of October 2011 where I'll be driving from Vadodara to Delhi and from there another of my friend as pillion till Spiti or Chandertal . So what would be the best route for this.

c. Again in terms of cost (if someone can enlighten, like how much should I take an avg.for the total cost that will be taken into consideration)

d. Any special things to keep in mind while travelling ?

1. Roads to Spiti: None to very bad... not good for pillion.

2. Route: Manali - Gramphoo - Losar etc... and Shimla - Narkanda - Rampur - Reckong Peo etc!

3. Lodging... Low cost or HPTDC (Book online)

4. Food... Expired Maggi with vegetables!

5. Special things to carry in mind... the will to do it and enjoying while you are at it.
