Kullu-Saraahan: A Little Visited Hamlet
Another weekend another ride...
This time again, Akram and me have joined together to find something little known and less explored. Route Followed: CHD - Shimla - Narkanda - Hatu Peak - Thanedar - Nogli - Nirmund-Baagi Pul - Saraahan, approx 280 kms. a bridge on Satluj just 3-4 kms short of Rampur leads to Nirmund (27kms from here) Nirmund to Saraahan is aprox 29 kms. The last 12 kms from Baagipul to Saraahan is very steep, rocky and bumpy kachchaa rasta. The road is under construction and may take another year to complete. The village has a large meadow and a double storied 13th centuary temple at the centre of the village. The main temple and another smaller temple near the meadow both are build in typical Himachali style with the help of stone rocks and wood logs. The brightest golden glow till date   view from Kufri. I guess last row is Kinnaur range  near Kufri  Akram, at Hatu Peak  The Dark Knight and a Black Beast spotted at Hatu Peak  views from Hatu Peak, It was a clear day:    Roaming around at Hatu Peak      नीले गगन की छाँव में...  Akaram, my co-rider  जाओ जी जाओ...   last 10 kms:  steep and bumpy...  good morning Saraahan...  Poser   Just Like That  Around the village  Morning walk  PWD Rest House...  Gang of four...

What a place and what pics man...Truly breathtaking.
This place is so far away from civilization... Loved the coldness in the pics..Almost could feel it here... Nice pics man..

Ah amazingly breathtaking!!!
Wow... Guys, simply too good!!! Such a serene place... I felt myself there in the cool wind enjoying a morning walk myself.. And what pics!!! Superb... That's why I love xbhp! A newbie like me gets to learn so many things. Not only the riding skills, I've learnt a few skills for photography too. This touring section is indeed my favorite part of the forum! Thanks for giving me (us fellow xbhpians) such a wonderful ride! Cheers!
