Tip of the Day

Who’s behind me?

Keep checking those mirrors for traffic and situation behind you. The RVM’s give a good field of view for vehicles following some distance behind. For those closer, you need to turn your head and use your peripheral vision.

Default A unplanned RIde."YERCAUD".A ride for sake of riding

    THE TEASER

Once again my fingers on the key board to post one more wonderful experience of riding to a virgin hillstation of tamilnadu, called “yercaud” ..Its also a has an another name “POOR MAN’S OOTY”.

I have never been to ooty still now so not going to compare it,but what could enjoy, the narrow twisty roads, the deadly hairpin bends, the cold weather, the virgin nature,we are going to enjoy one more time but virtually :P …

    Enjoy the teaser....

    travelogue approved.

p.s.: why there is such a big watermark on all your pictures? are you using any paid software to batch process your files?

you can try irfanview or faststone image viewer. both are free and capable. Will do 99% of your basic editing work, including batch processing, renaming, resizing.. etc. I am using FSstone personally.

    Aha! Memories refreshed!

Seems the place has got all its water back!
(I went in the dry season... Even the waterfalls were dry)

Bring it on bro.... Use IrfanView/Photomatix Pro for batch processing...
For the rest you have Photoshop CS versions.

    Happy riding.

Offtopic: Nothing beats Imagemagick for batch processing of photos. Its a commandline software but you can quickly cook up commands to do standard stuff like resize (and change quality) of all images following certain name patterns, etc.

Thank you for quick approving ...
I got a new software ,which does not create this watermark problem, but this is my old travelogue ,I have prepaired this long time ago.
But I could not post in this forum because I thought this small 500kms rides posting is appropriate or not..
So I am posting it late.. sorry..

Sunil, I too use FastStone, its simply outstanding. I got hold of all the commands and its a cakewalk processing the images.

HHSplendor, nice images, except for the sore watermark. Was expecting a cloudy and green photos, and just realized its an old ride.

Arrow A unplanned RIde."YERCAUD".A ride for sake of riding on platina

But now its time to visit "yercaud" one more but virtually ,as I promised ..

    Preparation :
I did't prepare for this trip.I did't have any maps, any gps,my bike was not serviced, even engine oil was 1400km old..

Mainly I was not ready for this trip..

    Story behind:
There is always a story behind the seen ...
In my university I stay outside not in hostel as they don't allow my Bike.So in the weekend my friend Sid comes to my place and we watch movies at night and enjoy .
But travelers heart don't want to stay in home ..

26th feb,2012.Friday night we watched movie and slept at late night.
    At morning 5am(27th feb,2012)
Sid: chol ghure aasi(lets go somwhere)
me: aree ghumiye pord(aree sleep na)
sid : (opening my leaptop searching in google.)
aree get up and search some places..
    Me : today 5pm I have a meeting.
    Sid :we will come back.
    Me : (full in form)
(after searching Tamilnadu govt site find out this place yercaud)

    to break the monotony

    Ride:
we were prepared in half an hour, and started the journey toward yercaud .
The total distance was nearly 230kms,out of them 90 kms is only NH,others 95kms was state highway, and rest was hill..

On the way we started speeding nearly 85kmph to cover up the NH distance because after that we dont have the info abt the road condition ..

On tha way we took breakfast with chai and bread and peanut butter, which we had in our bag..

    Now its show time..

    entering to pagoda view point

    some unforgettable moment

    views

    in and around

    a closed temple

the rider with glory in heart

    then started our journey

    the roads we enjoyed

    here also boating...

    water ways..

Half of the trip is left, lot more we have to travel...
