Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

    Default Day 1: Krishnagiri - Salem Tiruppur - Udumalaipettai - - Munnar

    Day 1: Krishnagiri - Salem Tiruppur - Udumalaipettai - - Munnar

On Friday night I started my ride form Chennai to join with my friend at Krishnagiri. Our plan was to start the ride on next day (saturday) morning at 5:30 amusually our timing isnt perfect, two riders from Hosur (Satheez and Ganesh) clicked on the trip at 5:30 only Me, Stephen and Dr. Sir was waiting for them and a day before Satheez brought a new tank bag for him and Dr. Sir, It is Rynox Optimum costs Rs.3150/- with magnet (without magnet Rs.3000/-) and at 6:00 am we gathered to well pack the luggage on our beasts. Dr. Sir worried about the climate in Munnar since at that time there was heavy rain at Krishnagiri and Bangalore. So I have got few Munnar hotels phone number from internet and enquired about the climate condition which resulted in positive thus made us and Dr. Sir as relaxed. By expecting good and bad weather condition we have packed our rain gears as well. All at the set we together started the engine at 7:15 am. Day 1 was cloudy but clear enough to ride on the Highways from Krishnagiri to Salem road. We took first break at Salem for breakfast and decided not to stop anywhere before reaching Munnar (though we stopped for traffic signals, diversions, border crossing Check posts and etc).
We have seen combined conditions of roads, for instance up to erode it was Highway a easy go ride from there took shortcut road to tiruppur which is two-way road but road wasnt bad and Tiruppur to Udumalaipettai is awesome, neat and perfect road. At TN border check post Police stopped us for enquiry where police got surprised after seeing Dr. Sir riding bike as a young and energetic man. Had few minutes chit chat with Police men and crossed Tamilnadu border where we saw very bad roads and are under construction for new roads. We were diverted to different ways to reach Munnar but finally got the trace of road to reach Munnar. We expected rain and cool climate on Day 1 itself but things happened as vice-versa. We couldnt hold on the rain protect liner inside the riding jacket. So took off it because of hot Sun and hot climate even very near to Munnar as well. Believe me Day 1 was a lucky day for us. We four except Dr. Sir started to ride very fast even in the hairpin bends and few opponent vehicles got confused and shocked because of our sudden arrival at corners, I thank Goodness nothing happened for us on that day. Later everyone realized that is not good & safe and decided to ride safe and steady speed together. We were very hungry to take Lunch at 4:30 pm and thats the time we reached Munnar. After lunch the worst part is we didnt book any rooms and thought will get rooms easily. Yes we got it easily but for higher rent which is not fair to pay, so called up a local guide who is known for Jaya Ganesh. He helped us to get decent suit room for 5 of us for decent rent as well. A Suit for Rs. 6000/- for two days is fair enough I believe. Munnar a magnificent site for eyes filled with Greenery mounts. Whenever we cross any tea factory the smell of the fresh tea leaves are under process of preparing Tea was awesome. So many waterfalls are very near and far in the mountains made us to feel the heaven. Checked in the room got settled down and after a small tea break started collating photographs from each one of us and what else by seeing the photographs started cracking jokes and funny stories on the memorable moments spent on that day .

    Let the Photos flow in....

Nice teasers with all the front-line bikes. 15 days back, even we expected heavy rains in Munnar, but it was sunny and hot during the initial part of the day and was just cool since 3 p.m.

A word of advice, please don't ride faster in twisties; its highly dangerous. At every corner we must honk to alert the oncoming vehicles.
