Hello xBhpians

Please give me few tips about the trip. Since i haven't been to kemmangundi for almost 4-5years. Please suggest me hotels on the way, best possible route. places around kemmangundi. What i need to take care, What i have to carry along with me, nearest petrol bunk.

Pramod,

Beautiful location man. Santa must have done Kemmangundi like 10 times by now. Suggest you talk to him.

But IMO, reaching Mullayanagiri in 6 hours is a slight stretch. Chikmangalur takes about 5.5+ hours, and Kemmangundi should take an hour more at the least.

You can find good budget hotels in Chikmangalur, or the guest house in Kemmangundi. The phone numbers were posted here somewhere, but I don't think you'll find them now.

To carry, just take a puncture repair kit, and rain gear. Petrol bunks are not an issue, there are quite a few in around Chikmangalur, Kemmangundi, Lingadahalli, etc.

Have a good trip buddy.

There are no hotels worth mentioning near kemmangundi. Since you are going during weekday, the Horticultural department guest houses will definetly be available. Just go for that. Decent accomodation for reasonable price.

As for the route, you can take either the Chikmagalur - Kemmangundi route (that will allow you to go through Mulliangiri first) then go to Baba budan giri and end the evening at Kemmangundi. You could probably finish visiting Hebbe falls and Z point the next day and return via the Tarikere route.

The nearest petrol bunk would be again Chikmagaluru or Tarikere, so fill up your tank at these places. Carry an instant puncture repair kit if you are travelling alone (comes in a can with compressed air). Other than that you can carry the normal tool kit and chain link/locks.

Thank You SKSy_Biker. Please correct me if the below route is not advisable.. Any idea of road conditions ?

Even if its raining is it okay to use Mulliangiri route ?

Route while going : bangalore - nelamangala - tumkur - gubbi - nitur - banasandra - tiptur - banavar - sakharepatna - chikmaglur - kemmangundi

Returning route : bangalore - nelamangala - tumkur - gubbi - nitur - banasandra - tiptur - banavar - kadur - birur - lingadahalli - kemmangundi

Please suggest me decent hotels on the way for lunch & break fast
