Thanks guys

To continue... We had our break fast and thought we would check out Magod falls before having a couple of hours rest. So at 10.30 am we thought to catch some sleep for half hour, but it was 2.30 pm before we came back to senses. Then wat had lunch. Pushed the Mogod vist for next day morning and went to check out sathodi fall. Its around 28 kms from yellapur and hit the deviation to ride through the narrow roads. When we left the room the sky was all clear and bright, and but here there was rain scare. we had left all the rain gear at room. Luckly the rain let off.

After riding some undulating tarrain, its 9 kms of offroading to get to the falls. So be it, who doesnt like off roads

Arun turning around the bike. Its tougher than it looks.

The trail followes the lake shore.

At one point we stop the bikes.

and Arun says we are getting of the path here to the lake! i mean from where? he says right here! After some scary getting down atleast for me we get near the water.

gawd know how i got down there. Lot of loose gravel and my shoes were bald.

Arun and me.

We spend some time on the shore and watch the cloud play.

From the hole in the canopy one could guess how high the trees were!

When we get back to the bike, we find these rocks stuck to the tank bag magnets. Metalic rocks! If any body wants to find some iron ore, you know where to go

Then we get back on the track for the falls....

Then we park our bike for a half km hike to get to the falls..

Arun happy to be there

So am i

Caught the moon from between the branches

First view of the falls

Arun picking the best view point. Its not the the water on the lens, but the draplets sprayed from the falls were caught by the Cam's flash!

It was a bit tough climb on the stones as in a slip mean u could get wet.

The Sathodi falls..

Couple of 1.6 seconds exposure shots..

The Golden sky we saw on our way back

By this time all the ppl around had gone and we were the only humans for quite some distance. We sat on a cement platform at one of the openings near the lake shore. And were there till like 8.30 PM. It was eairy with just some insect noice. Last time Arun was here alone at that time!. It was awesome under the moon light.

Tried some 30 second exposure shots of the lake in moon light

And even caught the moon.

After 8.30 pm we started for the rest of the off road return and to Yellapur. Have dinner and crash to catch up with the previous nights sleep loss.

Next up Magod falls... To be continued...

Just that i shot it a 10x max zoom and in max resolution of 8MP and directly cropped 800 X 600 of the big picture.

Glad you liked em kashif, I use the Sony H-10.

pix from the next day...

Had a good nights sleep making up for the previous day. Got up early and went to check out the Magod falls on the other side of Yellapur.

Since we got up early hardly any one to visit the place but us..

Looks like beat all the tourists to check out the falls.

couple of macros we shot at the gate waiting for the tea.

This flower was less than a centimeter wide!

Top part of the falls

the other half

steps leading to another view point

The big picture...

both of us gazing at the falls..

couple of pictures around the falls

neat lil guest house..

monkey protecting its hard earned food!

Then we get back to the hotel. Have break fast. Get lazy on the moving and start as late at 12.30pm! We more towards dandeli

Dunno what happened but arun saw two of me

Just after some distance of the cream road, Arun found a deviation which was going through some power plant settlement. The may cut short of route the beach but will take through the more interior route. When the forest guard stopped us, he himself did not know that this route led to Anshi town From here it was a trade off of letting go cream road for a rough one in exchange for great vistas.

At a view point, we can see heavens pouring afar

paddy field with the watch tower...

A ride through the forest

We again ended up with a fork with the both roads leading to anshi, one bettor road and the other worse but deeper into park. Guess what we chose ?

Yes we picked the bad road one. It was in bad condition for some 40-50 kms. but atleast they were evenly uneven!. meaning no potholes. so we could ride at some momentum.

Then we ran across place of visit.. Cyntheri rocks it seems..

again some offroading to get there...

well this was it , not the magnitude at which it was sold!

atleast they gave some gyan

more ride into the forest...

then i was seeing things, saw two aruns!

Just when we started to curse the bad roads, we hit the main road and Twisties here we come...

As we neared karwar arun found a short cut to goa saving us few kms and precious few minutes. but still we doubted that we could make it to Palolem beach to catch the sunset.

We enter goa...

We were too late for palolem beach. At a fork on the goan NH, arun suggested we take the longer road of the NH for the beach we are late anyway and there will be less traffic.

But voila, at a turn there was a beach devoid of ppl with just a family playing around. It wasnt commercialised and dunno if it had a name. But who cares.. We are on a beach to catch the sun set

Arun gets on the the beach first...

The Black stallians are happy..

the unknown beach..

It was amazing after a whole days ride of bad roads and feeling of missing the sunset and found this beach all for us just at the right time. Just as i was exhaulting, i feel the rain drops playing the spoil sport. Then i scramble to put of electronic equipment in plastic and get my self into the rain suit. Arun was more optimistic and the rain let off.
We get to palolem beach and a bummer no room any where near the beach
Should we go to gokarna arun asked. Man i cant am dead tired. Then he suggested finding a place in canakona and dump the things get back to the beach. Found a crappy place to stay and was a turn off. I always endup at bad places after hard riding!

Got ourself to the beach carrying just the valuables. Found a table with the beach view at the palolem resort.

Food, drinks and beach what else does one want? but too bad i had to drink alone :|. Me having alcohal after 16 months so 4 large vodaka for me please.

sure enough all the tiredness gone nothing beats being high on the beach

The follwing long exposure shots may seem strange but rmbr what i had me

found a jelly fish

a beach shack

this pic was at 11.30 pm 30 second exposure.

a very friendly dog who is more friendly with drunk guy !

I had told that dog that it was a 30 second exposure, but he mis heard as 10 and moved off in the middle

After some fun and frolic on the beach till 1.30 am. We get back to the crappy hotel ironically named as "canakona palace"! and crashed for the day...

Sorry for making this page very heavy.. To be continued...
