Well bout gear shift and brake paddle...
Well bro everyone knows this bike is a lill shorter than other bikes. If someone is below 5ft 7-8" in height then this is a perfect machine for him. But if someone's more than that then this becomes a pain as in case of R15 the gear shift lever and brake paddle both are positioned at a higher level than the footrest. So one has to literally lift his foot to change the gear and hit the brakes.

at the time of first servicing I got the gear shift lever lowered a bit but even that has some limitations. Though it is far better than what it was earlier, it is still a pain when one rides the bike for longer time. Nothing could be done for the brake paddle though.

Next time when i'll the service centre I'll try to lower the gear shift paddle even further provided it doesnt have any effect on gears. also i'll ask if anything can be done for the brake paddle.

ya i asked it because my friend whose also a die hard touring fan is considering the r15 over the much awaited ninja. so he wanted to know its drawbacks as well. thanks mate for the info!!

very good travel log. i found it very useful. just one silly question - how much litres of petrol did the bike consume in those 500km? (in short what mileage did you get?)

@ atul_the_rider
Bike returned a millage of 41.75km/l with an average speed of 80km/hr and at times 3 digit speeds for several minutes on expressway...

well i dont think this as a drawback of R15.. it's just a matter of getting used to the sitting position... that's it...
as per me R15 is ONE of the BEST touring machines available in India if not THE BEST machine.. Reason behind is you get enjoy both parts while touring.. the comfortable cruising speed and when the roads are inviting you can literally treat it like race tracks...

To tell you guys the effect of this bike, the friend with whom i had gone for the ride, had booked FZ16 before the ride at malad showroom.. but after the ride and specially riding this bike on Nagar road full of twists and turns that friend got so much impressed that we today went to malad showroom and transfered the papers and 10000 booking amount for R15. Paid the rest of the amount and now he's getting the bike on 21st of this month..

@ sam92
hey thanx for commenting...

Well frankly speaking i didnt experience any back aech at all... even after riding in conjested kalyan road after entire day's riding.. The only painfull parts were wrists(that too only the right wrist-a lill bit) and ankles that's it..nothing else...

regards-
Ketan Nikharge.

Our next small ride will be on one of the coming weekends... plans r like Leaving Mumbai early evening on one of the Saturdays and head towards Tony da dhaba on Mumbai pune road, which is quite famous for it's food..atleast i've heard so... dunno for sure...

Reach there by dinner time..

Have dinner...

Spend the night at the very place chit chatting under open skies...

Leave from there by 3.00-3.30 am and head towards Ambey valley..

Reach there before the sun rise..

Find a vantage point on one of the cliffs and wait for the sun to rise...

Enjoy the sun rise.. take snaps...

Have tea there.. and leave for Mumbai..

Reach Mumbai by afternoon....

Take rest for the rest of the day and get back to office on monday..
