Default Weekend Ride

HI Guys,

Request to mods make this tread a generic one so that everyone can post their weekend rides on this one. Most of them ride on weekends . I am not sure if there is a thread like this one but please do the needfull.

Had a weekend ride to Kavu puttur to a friends place last weekend and had some good fun. The ride was hectic but wanted to take the bike to the limits and mainly test the head lights.Friday I and arjun ( Silverfalcon ) were suppose to go for a night ride but due to some problem in offiice had to work that night. So ended up ditching Arjun... Was to frustrated so planned to go for a ride. Sorry Arjun..

The route was as follows.
Day 1: Bangalore > Madikeri > Sullya > Kavu
Day 2 : Puttur > Sakleshpur > Hassan > Nelmangala > Bangalore

Road condition : 70% good roads 30% off Roading.

I got up at 4 am and did the regular stuff.. Packed my bag with all acc ( puncture repair kit , compressor few tools and insulation tape etc) left home at 4:30 .It was chill and too cloudy so decided to just cover as much as possible so that if it rains can do some TP and wait till the rains stop..
Once i crossed kengeri was cruising at a good pace( dont want to put figures here as it would lead to how / its not possible / this that ) Reached mysore had some grub then went ahead to madikeri ... Madikeri was fun had been on the pulsar once and never thought will come again on a R15 ... The R15 was better than the pulsar on bad roads.. Could control it so well . And the braking was too good. Reached madikeri went to a friends place to have tea.. Then left to kavu...
Reached kavu at 11am total 340kms.

Friends house :

This is in his compound.

General

Rubber plantations .

Bee keeping got to see it

My Friend Ashwit .

R15 goes up hill

After all this heavy heavy heavy rains so no pics .

Slept that night at 12 after chit chat and dinner. Next day was a complete surprise for me.. My friend told me there is a local motocross event in puttur so i decided to see it and push off to bangy from puttur itself... The weather was dry and sunny and we woke up early had b'fast and left to puttur . We reached puttur was just 30kms from his house.. And then it was fun...

I had seen this kind of local motocross event in mangalore but this was totally mix of stupidity and skill .. We reached and the event had already started...

The Prize

The track 50% grass 50% dirt/ Mud . ...

Splendor this bike came second (other competitors were on 135 and shoguns )

The race was not about the prize it was about pride guys had spent 10-15k on the bikes just to win.Just 10% of the riders had riding gear.It was fun watching .

After the race was over got to see this .This will be something unique for many guys..

Puttur's drag strip ...

Local super bikes which race in the drag .

These drags take place twice a year . And this is worth watching . Its called Kambala
More info here.

Left puttur at around 3 and went non stop till hassan 150kms .. The sakleshpur ghat was horrible but enjoyed the ride as it had just rained heavily the weather was chill..Stopped at hassan had tea and dosa.I was surprised dint have any back ache nor legs were paining the ride was comfortable. Left hassan at around 5pm and started riding it had already started raining ...kept on going how much i could and it was just rains rains and rains... Had to take several stops as the rains were too heavy... at 7 it was again testing time Switched on the high beam and started ripping in rains.Got a message from akhil regarding where i was as we were suppose to go to rohits ( speed pujari 's) reception. Told akhil am stuck in rains and cant make it. Just 50kms before nelmangala it started pouring like a storm .Had to stop in petrol bunk and wasted 2 hours there.. It was around 8:30 started at 9 and started ripping again it was just slushy roads, rain and just trucks. Reached nelmangala and took 1 hour to reach bangy .. Traffic jams on the way .. Reached around 10 near palace ground called up akhil these buggers were in the stadium watching cricket match.. So i finally headed home and reached safely..

The ride was good.My views on the R15 for touring it rocks.. Am happy with the bike how it worked. The Hid worked well too with out any problems.. I have a pulsar 180 and might newer touch it ever again....

Topic Approved.

I don't think it is feasible for everyone to post their weekend ride in one thread! By the way, nice ride you had there. Your pictures are not visible. Kindly check it.
